3 And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. (Lu 21:12)

3 They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day.

3 So the temple authorities arrested Peter and John. It was already evening, so they put them in prison until the next day.
