9 It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate. (1Co 9:4; 1Th 2:6; 2Th 3:7; 1Pe 5:3)

9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate.

9 We worked, even though we have the right to receive help from you. We did it in order to be a model for you to follow.
