2 Kings 15:20

English Standard Version

20 Menahem exacted the money from Israel, that is, from all the wealthy men, fifty shekels[1] of silver from every man, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land.

New International Version

20 Menahem exacted this money from Israel. Every wealthy person had to contribute fifty shekels[1] of silver to be given to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria withdrew and stayed in the land no longer.

New International Reader’s Version

20 Menahem forced Israel to give him that money. Every wealthy person had to give him 600 grams of silver. All of it went to the king of Assyria. So he pulled his troops back. He didn’t stay in the land anymore.

King James Version

20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
