2 Kings 15:19

English Standard Version

19 Pul[1] the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents[2] of silver, that he might help him to confirm his hold on the royal power. (2Ki 14:5; 1Ch 5:26) 

New International Version

19 Then Pul[1] king of Assyria invaded the land, and Menahem gave him a thousand talents[2] of silver to gain his support and strengthen his own hold on the kingdom. 

New International Reader’s Version

19 Then Tiglath-Pileser marched into the land of Israel. He was king of Assyria. Menahem gave him 36 tonnes of silver to get his help. He wanted to make his control over the kingdom stronger. 

King James Version

19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.
