7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. (Jud 7:2; Job 10:9; Job 13:12; La 4:2; 1Co 2:5; 2Co 5:1; 1Th 4:4; 2Ti 2:20; 1Pe 3:7) 

New International Version

7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 

New International Reader’s Version

7 Treasure is kept in clay jars. In the same way, we have the treasure of the good news in these earthly bodies of ours. That shows that the mighty power of the good news comes from God. It doesn’t come from us. 

King James Version

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
