2 Chronicles 24:24

English Standard Version

24 Though the army of the Syrians had come with few men, the Lord delivered into their hand a very great army, because Judah[1] had forsaken the Lord, the God of their fathers. Thus they executed judgment on Joash. (Le 26:8; Le 26:36; 2Ch 22:8; 2Ch 24:20; Isa 30:17)

New International Version

24 Although the Aramean army had come with only a few men, the Lord delivered into their hands a much larger army. Because Judah had forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, judgment was executed on Joash.

New International Reader’s Version

24 The army of Aram had come with only a few men. But the LORD allowed them to win the battle over a much larger army. Judah had deserted the LORD, the God of their people. That’s why the LORD punished Joash.

King James Version

24 For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.
