12 And a man of the place answered, “And who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb, “Is Saul also among the prophets?” (1Sa 10:11; Isa 54:13; Joh 6:45) 

New International Version

12 A man who lived there answered, ‘And who is their father?’ So it became a saying: ‘Is Saul also among the prophets?’ 

New International Reader’s Version

12 A man who lived in Gibeah answered, ‘Yes, he is. In fact, he’s their leader.’ That’s why people say, ‘Is Saul also one of the prophets?’ 

King James Version

12 And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?
