1ای خدا، ساكت منشين! هنگامی كه دعا میكنيم، خموش و آرام مباش! برخيز و ما را نجات ده!2ببين چگونه دشمنانت شورش میكنند و آنانی كه از تو نفرت دارند به مخالفت و دشمنی برخاستهاند.3آنها بر ضد قوم خاص تو نقشههای پليد میكشند و برای كسانی كه به تو پناه آوردهاند، توطئه میچينند.4میگويند: «بياييد قوم اسرائيل را نابود كنيم تا نامش برای هميشه محو شود.»5همهٔ دشمنان با نقشهٔ نابودی ما موافقت نمودهاند و بر ضد تو همدست شدهاند:6ادوميان، اسماعيليان، موآبيان، هاجريان،7مردمان سرزمينهای جبال، عمون، عماليق، فلسطين و صور.8آشور نيز با آنها متحد شده و از عمون و موآب كه از نسل لوط هستند حمايت میكند.9خداوندا، همان بلايی را كه در درهٔ قيشون بر سر مديان و سيسرا و يابين آوردی، بر سر اين دشمنان نيز بياور.10همانگونه كه مخالفان ما را در«عين دور» از بين بردی و جنازههايشان در روی زمين ماند و كود زمين شد، اين دشمنان متحد را نيز نابود كن.11فرماندهان اين دشمنان را به سرنوشت غراب و ذئب دچار ساز. همهٔ بزرگان آنان را مانند ذبح و صلمونع هلاک ساز12همان كسانی كه قصد داشتند ملک خدا را تصاحب كنند.13ای خدا، دشمنان ما را همچون كاه و غبار در برابر باد، پراكنده ساز.14چنانكه آتش در جنگل و در كوهستان افروخته میشود و همه چيز را میسوزاند،15همچنان، ای خدا، آنها را با تندباد غضب خود بران و با طوفان خشم خويش آنها را آشفته و پريشان كن.16آنها را چنان مغبون كن كه به تو التماس كنند.17آنها را در انجام نقشههايشان با شكست مواجه ساز. بگذار در ننگ و رسوايی جان بسپارند18و بدانند كه تنها تو خدای متعال هستی و در سراسر جهان حكومت میكنی.

O God, Do Not Keep Silence
1A Song. A Psalm of Asaph. O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God!2For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads.3They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones.4They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”5For they conspire with one accord; against you they make a covenant—6the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites,7Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;8Asshur also has joined them; they are the strong arm of the children of Lot.9Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,10who were destroyed at En-dor, who became dung for the ground.11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,12who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God.”13O my God, make them like whirling dust,* like chaff before the wind.14As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze,15so may you pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane!16Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek your name, O Lord.17Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace,18that they may know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.
