1روزی هنگامی كه موسی مشغول چرانيدن گلهٔ پدر زن خود يَترون، كاهن مديان بود، گله را به آن سوی بيابان، به طرف كوه حوريب، معروف به كوه خدا راند.2ناگهان فرشتهٔ خداوند چون شعلهٔ آتش از ميان بوتهای بر او ظاهر شد. موسی ديد كه بوته شعلهور است، ولی نمیسوزد.3با خود گفت: «عجيب است! چرا بوته نمیسوزد؟» پس نزديک رفت تا علتش را بفهمد.4وقتی خداوند ديد كه موسی به بوته نزديک میشود، از ميان بوته ندا داد: «موسی! موسی!» موسی جواب داد: «بلی!»5خدا فرمود: «بيش از اين نزديک نشو! كفشهايت را از پای درآور، زيرا مكانی كه در آن ايستادهای، زمين مقدسی است.6من خدای اجداد تو ابراهيم، اسحاق و يعقوب هستم.» موسی روی خود را پوشاند، چون ترسيد به خدا نگاه كند.7خداوند فرمود: «من رنج و مصيبت بندگان خود را در مصر ديدم و نالهشان را برای رهايی از بردگی شنيدم.8حال، آمدهام تا آنها را از چنگ مصریها آزاد كنم و ايشان را از مصر بيرون آورده، به سرزمين پهناور و حاصلخيزی كه در آن شير و عسل جاری است ببرم، سرزمينی كه اينک قبايل كنعانی، حيتّی، اموری، فرزّی، حوّی و يبوسی در آن زندگی میكنند.9آری، نالههای بنیاسرائيل به گوش من رسيده است و ظلمی كه مصریها به ايشان میكنند، از نظر من پنهان نيست.10حال، تو را نزد فرعون میفرستم تا قوم مرا از مصر بيرون آوری.»11موسی گفت: «خدايا، من كيستم كه نزد فرعون بروم و بنیاسرائيل را از مصر بيرون آورم؟»12خدا فرمود: «من با تو خواهم بود و وقتی بنیاسرائيل را از مصر بيرون آوردی، در همين كوه مرا عبادت خواهيد كرد. اين نشانهای خواهد بود كه من تو را فرستادهام.»13موسی عرض كرد: «اگر پيش بنیاسرائيل بروم و به ايشان بگويم كه خدای اجدادشان، مرا برای نجات ايشان فرستاده است، و آنها از من بپرسند: ”نام او چيست؟“ به آنها چه جواب دهم؟»14خدا فرمود: «هستم آنكه هستم! به ايشان بگو ”هستم“ مرا نزد شما فرستاده است.15بلی، به ايشان بگو: خداوند[1] يعنی خدای اجداد شما، خدای ابراهيم، اسحاق و يعقوب مرا پيش شما فرستاده است. اين نام جاودانهٔ من است و تمام نسلها مرا به اين نام خواهند شناخت.»16سپس، خدا به موسی دستور داد: «برو و تمام رهبران اسرائيل را جمع كن و به ايشان بگو: خداوند، خدای اجداد شما ابراهيم، اسحاق و يعقوب بر من ظاهر شد و فرمود كه رفتاری را كه در مصر با شما میشود، ديده است و به ياری شما آمده است.17او وعده فرموده است كه شما را از سختيهايی كه در مصر میكشيد، آزاد كند و به سرزمينی ببرد كه در آن شير و عسل جاری است، سرزمينی كه اينک كنعانیها، حيتیها، اموریها، فرزیها، حویها و يبوسیها در آن زندگی میكنند.18«آنگاه بزرگان اسرائيل سخن تو را خواهند پذيرفت. تو همراه آنان به حضور پادشاه مصر برو و به او بگو: ”خداوند، خدای عبرانیها، بر ما ظاهر شده و دستور داده است كه به فاصلهٔ سه روز راه، به صحرا برويم و در آنجا برای خداوند، خدای خود قربانی كنيم.“19«ولی من میدانم كه پادشاه مصر اجازه نخواهد داد كه برويد، مگر اينكه زير فشار قرار بگيرد.20پس من با قدرت و معجزات خود، مصر را به زانو درمیآورم، تا فرعون ناچار شود شما را رها كند.21همچنين كاری میكنم كه مصریها برای شما احترام قايل شوند، به طوری كه وقتی آن سرزمين را ترک میگوييد، تهيدست نخواهيد رفت.22هر زن اسرائيلی از همسايه و از بانوی خود لباس و جواهرات خواهد خواست و با آن پسران و دختران خود را زينت خواهد داد. به اين ترتيب شما مصريان را غارت خواهيد نمود.»
1Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. (اشعيا 63:9; اعمال رسولان مسيح 7:30)3And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.”4When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” (خروج 19:3; تثنيه 33:16)5Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” (خروج 19:12; يوشع 5:15; جامعه 5:1)6And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. (خروج 1:11; خروج 1:22; خروج 2:23)10Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” (مزامير 105:26; ميكاه 6:4)11But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (خروج 6:12; 1سموئيل 18:18; اشعيا 6:5; اشعيا 6:8; اِرميا 1:6)12He said, “But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” (خروج 4:12; خروج 4:15; تثنيه 31:8; تثنيه 31:23; يوشع 1:5)13Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”14God said to Moses, “I am who I am.”[1] And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” (خروج 6:3; مزامير 68:4; نوشته ء يوحنا 8:58; يهودى نژاد 13:8; مکاشفه 1:4; مکاشفه 4:8)15God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord,[2] the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations. (خروج 3:6; مزامير 135:13; هوشع 12:5)16Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt, (پيدايش 50:24; خروج 4:29; خروج 4:31; نوشتهء لوقا 1:68)17and I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.”’ (خروج 3:8)18And they will listen to your voice, and you and the elders of Israel shall go to the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us; and now, please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’ (خروج 4:31; خروج 5:1; اعداد 23:3; اعداد 23:15)19But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless compelled by a mighty hand.[3] (خروج 5:2; خروج 6:1; خروج 7:4; خروج 13:3)20So I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all the wonders that I will do in it; after that he will let you go. (خروج 4:21; خروج 12:31; تثنيه 6:22; نحميا 9:10; اِرميا 32:20; اعمال رسولان مسيح 7:36)21And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and when you go, you shall not go empty, (پيدايش 15:14; خروج 11:2; خروج 12:35)22but each woman shall ask of her neighbor, and any woman who lives in her house, for silver and gold jewelry, and for clothing. You shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.” (خروج 33:6; حزقيال نبی 39:10)
