1Und es geschah, als Jesus diese Rede abgeschlossen hatte, dass er von Galiläa aufbrach und in das Gebiet von Judäa jenseits des Jordan kam.2Und viele Leute folgten ihm, und er heilte sie dort.
Zur Frage nach der Ehescheidung
3Und es kamen Pharisäer zu ihm, um ihn auf die Probe zu stellen, und sagten: Ist es einem Mann erlaubt, seine Frau zu entlassen, aus welchem Grund auch immer?4Er aber antwortete: Habt ihr nicht gelesen, dass der Schöpfer sie von Anfang an als Mann und Frau geschaffen hat? (1Mo 1,27; 1Mo 5,2)5Und dass er gesagt hat: Darum wird ein Mann Vater und Mutter verlassen und seiner Frau anhangen, und die beiden werden ein Fleisch sein. (1Mo 2,24)6Also sind sie nicht mehr zwei, sondern sie sind ein Fleisch. Was nun Gott zusammengefügt hat, soll der Mensch nicht scheiden.7Sie sagen zu ihm: Warum hat dann Mose geboten, ihr einen Scheidebrief zu geben und sie zu entlassen? (5Mo 24,1)8Er sagt zu ihnen: Mose hat euch angesichts eurer Hartherzigkeit erlaubt, eure Frauen zu entlassen; doch ursprünglich ist es nicht so gewesen.9Ich sage euch aber: Wer seine Frau entlässt - ausser wegen Unzucht - und eine andere heiratet, der begeht Ehebruch. (Mt 5,32; Mk 10,11; Lk 16,18; 1Kor 7,10)10Da sagen die Jünger zu ihm: Wenn die Sache des Mannes mit der Frau so steht - wozu dann heiraten?11Er aber sagte zu ihnen: Nicht alle fassen dieses Wort, sondern nur die, denen es gegeben ist:12Ja, es gibt Eunuchen, die von Geburt an so waren, und es gibt Eunuchen, die von Menschen zu solchen gemacht wurden, und es gibt Eunuchen, die sich um des Himmelreiches willen selbst zu solchen gemacht haben. Wer das fassen kann, fasse es!
Jesus und die Kinder
13Dann brachte man Kinder zu ihm, damit er ihnen die Hände auflege und bete. Die Jünger aber fuhren sie an.14Doch Jesus sprach: Lasst die Kinder und hindert sie nicht, zu mir zu kommen, denn solchen gehört das Himmelreich. (Mt 18,3)15Und er legte ihnen die Hände auf und ging weg von dort.
Nachfolge und Reichtum
16Da kam einer zu ihm und sagte: Meister, was muss ich Gutes tun, um ewiges Leben zu erlangen?17Er sagte zu ihm: Was fragst du mich nach dem Guten? Einer ist der Gute. Willst du aber ins Leben eingehen, so halte die Gebote.18Da sagte er zu ihm: Welche? Jesus sagte: Du sollst nicht töten, du sollst nicht ehebrechen, du sollst nicht stehlen, du sollst nicht falsches Zeugnis ablegen, (2Mo 20,13; 5Mo 5,17)19ehre Vater und Mutter und: Liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst. (2Mo 20,12; 3Mo 19,18; 5Mo 5,16)20Da sagte der junge Mann zu ihm: Das alles habe ich befolgt. Was fehlt mir noch?21Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: Willst du vollkommen sein, so geh, verkaufe deinen Besitz und gib ihn den Armen, und du wirst einen Schatz im Himmel haben, und komm und folge mir! (Mt 5,48; Mt 6,20; Mt 13,44; Mt 16,24)22Als der junge Mann das hörte, ging er traurig fort, denn er hatte viele Güter.23Jesus aber sagte zu seinen Jüngern: Amen, ich sage euch: Ein Reicher wird nur schwer ins Himmelreich kommen. (Mt 7,21; Mt 13,22)24Weiter sage ich euch: Eher geht ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr als ein Reicher in das Reich Gottes.25Als die Jünger das hörten, waren sie bestürzt und sagten: Wer kann dann gerettet werden? (Mt 7,28)26Jesus blickte sie an und sprach: Bei Menschen ist das unmöglich, bei Gott aber ist alles möglich! (1Mo 18,14)
Vom Lohn der Nachfolge
27Da wandte sich Petrus an ihn und sagte: Wir hier haben alles verlassen und sind dir gefolgt. Was wird mit uns werden? (Mt 4,20)28Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Amen, ich sage euch: Ihr, die ihr mir gefolgt seid, werdet bei der Neuschöpfung, wenn der Menschensohn sich auf den Thron seiner Herrlichkeit setzt, auch auf zwölf Thronen sitzen und die zwölf Stämme Israels richten. (Mt 16,27; Lk 22,28; Offb 3,21)29Und jeder, der um meines Namens willen Häuser, Brüder, Schwestern, Vater, Mutter, Kinder oder Äcker verlassen hat, wird hundertfach empfangen und ewiges Leben erben. (Mt 4,22; Mt 10,37)30Viele Erste aber werden Letzte sein und Letzte Erste. (Mt 20,16; Lk 13,30)

(1Mo 2,24)6So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no-one separate.’7‘Why then,’ they asked, ‘did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?’8Jesus replied, ‘Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.9I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.’10The disciples said to him, ‘If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.’11Jesus replied, ‘Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.12For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others – and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.’
The little children and Jesus
13Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.14Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’15When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
The rich and the kingdom of God
16Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, ‘Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?’17‘Why do you ask me about what is good?’ Jesus replied. ‘There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.’18‘Which ones?’ he enquired. Jesus replied, ‘ “You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony,19honour your father and mother,”[1] and “love your neighbour as yourself.” ’ (2Mo 20,12; 3Mo 19,18; 5Mo 5,16)20‘All these I have kept,’ the young man said. ‘What do I still lack?’21Jesus answered, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.’22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.23Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.’25When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, ‘Who then can be saved?’26Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’27Peter answered him, ‘We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?’28Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[2] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.30But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
