1Und er rief seine zwölf Jünger herbei und gab ihnen Vollmacht, unreine Geister auszutreiben und jede Krankheit und jedes Gebrechen zu heilen. (Mk 6,7; Lk 9,1)2Dies sind die Namen der zwölf Apostel: zuerst Simon, der Petrus heisst, und Andreas, sein Bruder, und Jakobus, der Sohn des Zebedäus, und Johannes, sein Bruder, (Mk 3,13; Lk 6,12)3Philippus und Bartolomäus, Thomas und Matthäus, der Zöllner, Jakobus, der Sohn des Alfäus, und Thaddäus,4Simon Kananäus[1], und Judas Iskariot, der ihn dann auslieferte.5Diese Zwölf sandte Jesus aus und gebot ihnen: Nehmt nicht den Weg zu den Heiden und betretet keine samaritanische Stadt.6Geht vielmehr zu den verlorenen Schafen aus dem Hause Israel. (Mt 9,36; Mt 15,24; Mt 28,19)7Geht und verkündigt: Nahe gekommen ist das Himmelreich. (Mk 6,8; Lk 4,17; Lk 9,2; Lk 10,1)8Kranke macht gesund, Tote weckt auf, Aussätzige macht rein, Dämonen treibt aus! Umsonst habt ihr es empfangen, umsonst sollt ihr es geben.9Füllt eure Gürtel nicht mit Gold-, Silber- oder Kupfermünzen!10Nehmt keinen Sack mit auf den Weg, kein zweites Kleid, keine Schuhe, keinen Stab! Denn der Arbeiter ist seines Lohnes wert.11Kommt ihr aber in eine Stadt oder in ein Dorf, dann fragt nach, wer da würdig ist; dort bleibt, bis ihr weiterzieht.12Wenn ihr aber in das Haus eintretet, so grüsst es.13Wenn das Haus es wert ist, kehre euer Friede dort ein, wenn das Haus es aber nicht wert ist, kehre euer Friede zu euch zurück.14Wenn man euch nicht aufnimmt und eure Worte nicht hören will, dann geht fort aus jenem Haus oder jener Stadt und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füssen. (Lk 10,11)15Amen, ich sage euch: Dem Land Sodom und Gomorra wird es am Tag des Gerichts besser ergehen als jener Stadt. (1Mo 19,24; Mt 11,22)
Standhalten in Verfolgungen
16Seht, ich sende euch wie Schafe mitten unter die Wölfe; seid also klug wie die Schlangen und ohne Falsch wie die Tauben. (Mt 7,15; Lk 10,3)17Hütet euch aber vor den Menschen! Denn sie werden euch an Gerichte ausliefern, in ihren Synagogen werden sie euch auspeitschen, (Mt 24,9; Mk 13,9; Lk 21,12; Lk 23,34)18vor Statthalter und Könige werdet ihr geführt werden um meinetwillen, um Zeugnis abzulegen vor ihnen und den Völkern.19Wenn sie euch aber vor Gericht stellen, dann sorgt euch nicht darum, wie oder was ihr reden sollt, denn es wird euch in jener Stunde gegeben werden, was ihr reden sollt. (Lk 12,11)20Denn nicht ihr seid es, die dann reden werden, sondern der Geist eures Vaters ist es, der durch euch reden wird. (Lk 12,12)21Es wird aber ein Bruder den andern dem Tod ausliefern und ein Vater das Kind, und Kinder werden gegen ihre Eltern auftreten und sie in den Tod schicken.22Und ihr werdet gehasst werden von allen um meines Namens willen. Wer aber standhält bis ans Ende, der wird gerettet werden. (Mt 5,11; Mt 24,13; Joh 15,18)23Wenn sie euch in der einen Stadt verfolgen, dann flieht in die andere. Denn, amen, ich sage euch: Ihr werdet mit den Städten Israels nicht zu Ende kommen, bevor der Menschensohn kommt. (Mt 5,10; Mt 16,27; Mt 16,28; Mt 23,34)24Ein Jünger steht nicht über dem Meister und ein Knecht nicht über seinem Herrn. (Lk 6,40; Joh 13,16; Joh 15,20)25Es genügt dem Jünger, dass er wie sein Meister wird, und dem Knecht, dass er wie sein Herr wird. Wenn man schon den Hausherrn Beelzebul nennt, wie viel mehr dann seine Hausgenossen. (Mt 9,34)
Die Aufforderung zu furchtlosem Bekenntnis
26Darum fürchtet sie nicht! Denn nichts ist verhüllt, was nicht enthüllt, und nichts geheim, was nicht bekannt werden wird. (Mk 4,22; Lk 8,17)27Was ich euch im Dunkeln sage, das sagt im Licht. Und was ihr ins Ohr geflüstert bekommt, das ruft aus auf den Dächern.28Fürchtet euch nicht vor denen, die den Leib töten, die Seele aber nicht töten können. Fürchtet euch mehr vor dem, der Seele und Leib in der Hölle verderben kann.29Verkauft man nicht zwei Spatzen für einen Fünfer? Und nicht einer von ihnen fällt zu Boden, ohne dass euer Vater bei ihm ist.[2]30Bei euch aber sind sogar die Haare auf dem Kopf alle gezählt.31Fürchtet euch also nicht! Ihr seid mehr wert als viele Spatzen. (Mt 6,26; Mt 12,12)32Jeder nun, der sich vor den Menschen zu mir bekennt, zu dem werde auch ich mich bekennen vor meinem Vater im Himmel.33Wer mich aber vor den Menschen verleugnet, den werde auch ich verleugnen vor meinem Vater im Himmel. (Mk 8,38; Lk 9,26)
Von der notwendigen Zwietracht
34Meint nicht, ich sei gekommen, Frieden auf die Erde zu bringen. Ich bin nicht gekommen, Frieden zu bringen, sondern das Schwert. (Lk 12,51)35Denn ich bin gekommen, einen Mann mit dem Vater zu entzweien und eine Tochter mit der Mutter und eine Schwiegertochter mit der Schwiegermutter; (Mi 7,6)36und zu Feinden werden dem Menschen die eigenen Hausgenossen.37Wer Vater oder Mutter mehr liebt als mich, ist meiner nicht wert, und wer Sohn oder Tochter mehr liebt als mich, ist meiner nicht wert. (Mt 19,29; Lk 14,26)38Und wer nicht sein Kreuz auf sich nimmt und hinter mir hergeht, ist meiner nicht wert. (Mt 16,24)39Wer sein Leben findet, wird es verlieren; wer sein Leben verliert um meinetwillen, wird es finden. (Mt 16,25)
Vom Aufnehmen der Jünger
40Wer euch aufnimmt, nimmt mich auf, und wer mich aufnimmt, nimmt den auf, der mich gesandt hat. (Mt 18,5; Mt 25,40; Mk 9,37; Lk 9,48; Lk 10,16; Joh 13,20)41Wer einen Propheten aufnimmt, weil er ein Prophet ist, wird den Lohn eines Propheten empfangen, und wer einen Gerechten aufnimmt, weil er ein Gerechter ist, wird den Lohn eines Gerechten empfangen.42Und wer einem dieser Geringen auch nur einen Becher frischen Wassers reicht, weil er ein Jünger ist - amen, ich sage euch: Er wird nicht um seinen Lohn kommen. (Mt 25,40; Mk 9,41)

Freely you have received; freely give.9‘Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts –10no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.11Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave.12As you enter the home, give it your greeting.13If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you.14If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.15Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.16‘I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.17Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues.18On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.19But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say,20for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.21‘Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.22You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.23When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.24‘The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.25It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!26‘So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.27What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.28Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[2]30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.31So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.32‘Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.33But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.34‘Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.35For I have come to turn ‘ “a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law –36a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.” (Mi 7,6)37‘Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.38Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.39Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.40‘Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.41Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.42And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.’
