Turkish Bible Society'dan1Balam, RAB'bin İsrail halkını kutsamaktan hoşnut olduğunu anlayınca, önceden yaptığı gibi gidip fala başvurmadı, yüzünü çöle çevirdi.2Baktı, İsrail'in oymak oymak yerleştiğini gördü. Tanrı'nın Ruhu onun üzerine inince,3şu bildiriyi iletti: ‹‹Beor oğlu Balam, Gözü açılmış olan,4Tanrı'nın sözlerini duyan, Her Şeye Gücü Yeten'in görümlerini gören, Yere kapanan, Tanrı'nın gözlerini açtığı kişi bildiriyor:5‹Ey Yakup soyu, çadırların, Ey İsrail, konutların ne güzel!6Yayılıyorlar vadiler gibi, Irmak kıyısında bahçeler gibi, RAB'bin diktiği öd ağaçları gibi, Su kıyısındaki sedir ağaçları gibi.7Kovalarından sular akacak, Tohumları bol suyla sulanacak. Kralları Agak'tan büyük olacak, Krallığı yüceltilecek.8Tanrı onları Mısır'dan çıkardı, O'nun yaban öküzü gibi gücü var. Düşmanı olan ulusları yiyip bitirecek, Kemiklerini parçalayacak, Oklarıyla onları deşecekler.9Aslan gibi, dişi aslan gibi Yere çömelir, yatarlar, Kim onları uyandırmaya cesaret edebilir? Seni kutsayan kutsansın, Seni lanetleyen lanetlensin!› ››10Balam'a öfkelenen Balak ellerini birbirine vurarak, ‹‹Düşmanlarıma lanet okuyasın diye seni çağırdım›› dedi, ‹‹Oysa üç kez onları kutsadın.11Haydi, hemen evine dön! Seni ödüllendireceğimi söylemiştim. Ama RAB seni ödül almaktan yoksun bıraktı.››12-13Balam şöyle karşılık verdi: ‹‹Bana gönderdiğin ulaklara, ‹Balak sarayını altınla, gümüşle doldurup bana verse bile, RAB'bin buyruğundan öte iyi kötü hiçbir şey yapamam. Ancak RAB ne derse onu söylerim› dememiş miydim?14İşte şimdi halkıma dönüyorum. Gel, bu halkın gelecekte halkına neler yapacağını sana bildireyim.››
Balam'ın Dördüncü Bildirisi
15Sonra Balam şu bildiriyi iletti: ‹‹Beor oğlu Balam, Gözü açılmış olan,16Tanrı'nın sözlerini duyan, Yüceler Yücesi'nin bilgisine kavuşan, Her Şeye Gücü Yeten'in görümlerini gören, Yere kapanan, Tanrı'nın gözlerini açtığı kişi bildiriyor:17‹Onu görüyorum, ama şimdilik değil, Ona bakıyorum, ama yakından değil. Yakup soyundan bir yıldız çıkacak, İsrail'den bir önder[1] yükselecek. Moavlılar'ın alınlarını, Şetoğulları'nın başlarını ezecek.18Düşmanı olan Edom ele geçirilecek, Evet, Seir alınacak, Ama İsrail güçlenecek.19Yakup soyundan gelen kişi önderlik edecek, Kentte sağ kalanları yok edecek.› ››
Balam'ın Son Bildirileri
20Balam Amalekliler'i görünce şu bildiriyi iletti: ‹‹Amalek halkı uluslar arasında birinciydi, Ama sonu yıkım olacak.››21Kenliler'i görünce de şu bildiriyi iletti: ‹‹Yaşadığınız yer güvenli, Yuvanız kayalarda kurulmuş;22Ama, ey Kenliler, Asurlular sizi tutsak edince, Yanıp yok olacaksınız.››23Balam bildirisini iletmeyi sürdürdü: ‹‹Ah, bunu yapan Tanrı'ysa, Kim sağ kalabilir?24Kittim[2] kıyılarından gemiler gelecek, Asur'la Ever'i dize getirecekler, Kendileri de yıkıma uğrayacak.››25Bundan sonra Balam kalkıp evine döndü, Balak da kendi yoluna gitti.
1When Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he did not go, as at other times, to look for omens, but set his face toward the wilderness. (Say 23:3; Say 23:15)2And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe. And the Spirit of God came upon him, (Say 2:22; Hak 3:10; 1 Sa 19:20; 1 Sa 19:23; 2 Ta 15:1; 2 Ta 20:14)3and he took up his discourse and said, “The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor, the oracle of the man whose eye is opened,[1] (Say 23:7)4the oracle of him who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down with his eyes uncovered: (Hez 1:28; Hez 3:23; Va 1:10; Va 1:17)5How lovely are your tents, O Jacob, your encampments, O Israel!6Like palm groves[2] that stretch afar, like gardens beside a river, like aloes that the Lord has planted, like cedar trees beside the waters. (Mez 1:3; Mez 104:16; Yşa 61:3; Yer 17:8)7Water shall flow from his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters; his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. (1 Sa 15:8; 2 Sa 5:12; 1 Ta 14:2; Yer 51:13; Va 17:1)8God brings him out of Egypt and is for him like the horns of the wild ox; he shall eat up the nations, his adversaries, and shall break their bones in pieces and pierce them through with his arrows. What the Lord speaks, that will I speak’? (Say 16:28; Say 22:18)14And now, behold, I am going to my people. Balaam’s Final Oracle
15And he took up his discourse and said, “The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor, the oracle of the man whose eye is opened, (Say 21:27; Say 23:7)16the oracle of him who hears the words of God, and knows the knowledge of the Most High, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down with his eyes uncovered: (Say 24:4; Elç 7:48)17I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead[3] of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth. (Yar 49:10; Say 23:9; 2 Sa 8:2; Yer 48:45; Mat 2:2; Va 22:16)18Edom shall be dispossessed; Seir also, his enemies, shall be dispossessed. Israel is doing valiantly. (Yar 32:3; Yar 36:8; 2 Sa 8:14; Mez 60:8; Amo 9:12)19And one from Jacob shall exercise dominion and destroy the survivors of cities!”20Then he looked on Amalek and took up his discourse and said, “Amalek was the first among the nations, but its end is utter destruction.” (Çık 17:14; Say 23:7; 1 Sa 15:3; 1 Sa 15:8)21And he looked on the Kenite, and took up his discourse and said, “Enduring is your dwelling place, and your nest is set in the rock.22Nevertheless, Kain shall be burned when Asshur takes you away captive.”23And he took up his discourse and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?24But ships shall come from Kittim and shall afflict Asshur and Eber; and he too shall come to utter destruction.” (Yar 10:4; Yar 10:21; Yar 10:25; Say 24:20; Dan 11:30)25Then Balaam rose and went back to his place.
