(Ps 27,4)3Ich sehne mich, ja ich vergehe vor Sehnsucht, die Vorhöfe des HERRN zu betreten, wo ich den lebendigen Gott mit frohem Herzen anbeten will. (Ps 42,2; Ps 63,2)4Selbst ein Vogel findet dort ein Heim, und die Schwalben bauen ihr Nest und ziehen ihre Jungen auf, nahe bei deinen Altären, allmächtiger HERR, mein Gott und König! (Ps 43,4)5Wie glücklich sind die, die in deinem Hause wohnen dürfen, sie werden dich jederzeit loben. (Ps 65,5)6Glücklich sind die Menschen, die in dir ihre Stärke finden und von Herzen dir nachfolgen. (Ps 81,2)7Wenn sie das Tal der Tränen[2] durchqueren, wird es ihnen zu einem Ort erfrischender Quellen und der Frühregen bedeckt es mit Segen. (Ps 107,35)8So bekommen sie immer wieder neue Kraft und erscheinen in Jerusalem[3] vor Gott. (5Mo 16,16; Jes 40,31)9HERR, allmächtiger Gott, vernimm mein Gebet und erhöre mich, Gott Israels[4].10Gott, schau den König, unseren Beschützer, gnädig an. Hab Erbarmen mit ihm, den du auserwählt hast! (1Mo 15,1; 2Sam 19,22; Ps 115,9)11HERR, ein einziger Tag in deinen Vorhöfen ist besser als sonst tausend! Lieber möchte ich Torhüter im Haus meines Gottes sein, als in den Häusern der Bösen zu wohnen. (1Chr 23,5; Ps 27,4)12Denn Gott, der HERR, ist für uns Sonne und Schutz. Er schenkt uns Gnade und Ehre. Der HERR wird denen nichts Gutes vorenthalten, die tun, was recht ist. (Ps 2,12)13Allmächtiger HERR, glücklich ist der Mensch, der auf dich vertraut. (Ps 2,12)

1LORD who rules over all, how lovely is the place where you live!2I can’t wait to be in the courtyards of the LORD’s temple. I really want to be there. My whole being cries out for the living God.3LORD who rules over all, even the sparrow has found a home near your altar. My King and my God, the swallow also has a nest there, where she may have her young.4Blessed are those who live in your house. They are always praising you.5Blessed are those whose strength comes from you.
