Überall erzählen sich die Menschen von deinen wunderbaren Taten. (Ps 44,2; Ps 71,17)3Gott spricht: »Zu der Zeit, die ich bestimmt habe, werde ich gerecht richten.4Auch wenn die Erde bebt und die Menschen in Aufruhr geraten, bin ich es, der ihrem Fundament Halt gibt. (1Sam 2,8; Ps 46,7)5Ich habe die Stolzen gewarnt: ›Hört auf mit eurem Prahlen!‹ Zu den Gottlosen sprach ich: ›Ballt nicht die Fäuste!6Ballt nicht die Fäuste trotzig gegen den Himmel! Hört auf, so unverschämt zu reden!‹« (Ps 94,4)7Denn niemand auf Erden – weder aus Osten oder Westen noch aus Süden – kann einen anderen Menschen erhöhen.8Vielmehr richtet Gott allein; er entscheidet, wen er erhöht und wen er erniedrigt. (1Sam 2,7)9Der HERR hält einen Becher in seiner Hand, voll mit schäumendem Wein, gemischt mit Gewürzen. Diesen Wein wird er beim Gericht ausschenken, und alle Gottlosen müssen ihn bis zum allerletzten Tropfen trinken.10Ich aber will allezeit von Gottes Werken erzählen und den Gott Israels[1] mit Liedern loben. (Ps 40,11)11Denn Gott spricht: »Ich will die Macht der Gottlosen zerstören, aber die Kraft der Gottesfürchtigen will ich stärken.« (Ps 89,18; Ps 148,14)

1God, we praise you. We praise you because you are near to us. People talk about the wonderful things you have done.2You say, ‘I choose the appointed time to judge people. And I judge them fairly.3When the earth and all its people tremble, I keep everything from falling to pieces.4To the proud I say, “Don’t boast anymore.” To sinners I say, “Don’t show off your power.5Don’t show it off against me. Don’t talk back to me.” ’6No one from east or west or north or south can judge themselves.7God is the one who judges. He says to one person, ‘You are guilty.’ To another he says, ‘You are not guilty.’8In the hand of the LORD is a cup. It is full of wine mixed with spices. It is the wine of his anger. He pours it out. All the evil people on earth drink it down to the very last drop.9I will speak about this for ever. I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.10God says, ‘I will destroy the power of all sinful people. But I will make godly people more powerful.’
