1Und Mose berief ganz Israel und sprach zu ihnen: Höre, Israel, die Satzungen und Rechtsbestimmungen, die ich heute vor euren Ohren rede; lernt und bewahrt sie, um sie zu tun! (2Mo 20,8; 2Mo 31,17)13Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten und alle deine Werke tun; (2Mo 35,3; Hes 20,12; Lk 13,14; Lk 23,56)14aber am siebten Tag ist der Sabbat des HERRN, deines Gottes; da sollst du kein Werk tun, weder du noch dein Sohn, noch deine Tochter, noch dein Knecht, noch deine Magd, noch dein Rind, noch dein Esel, noch all dein Vieh, noch dein Fremdling, der innerhalb deiner Tore ist, damit dein Knecht und deine Magd ruhen wie du. (1Thess 4,6)20Du sollst kein falsches Zeugnis reden gegen deinen Nächsten! (5Mo 19,16; Ps 120,3; Spr 19,5; Spr 19,9)21Du sollst nicht begehren die Frau deines Nächsten; und du sollst dich nicht gelüsten lassen nach dem Haus deines Nächsten, noch nach seinem Acker, noch nach seinem Knecht, noch nach seiner Magd, noch nach seinem Rind, noch nach seinem Esel, noch nach allem, was dein Nächster hat! Mose als Mittler zwischen Gott und dem Volk
22Diese Worte redete der HERR zu eurer ganzen Gemeinde auf dem Berg, mitten aus dem Feuer, dem Gewölk und der Dunkelheit, mit gewaltiger Stimme, und er fügte nichts hinzu. Und er schrieb sie auf zwei steinerne Tafeln und gab sie mir. (5Mo 4,12; 2Kor 3,3)23Und es geschah, als ihr die Stimme mitten aus der Finsternis hörtet und der Berg im Feuer brannte, da tratet ihr zu mir, alle Oberhäupter eurer Stämme und eure Ältesten, (2Mo 20,18)24und ihr spracht: Siehe, der HERR, unser Gott, hat uns seine Herrlichkeit und seine Größe sehen lassen, und wir haben seine Stimme mitten aus dem Feuer gehört; heute haben wir gesehen, dass Gott mit den Menschen redet und sie am Leben bleiben. (2Mo 33,11)25Und nun, warum sollen wir sterben? Denn dieses große Feuer wird uns verzehren! Wenn wir die Stimme des HERRN, unseres Gottes, noch weiter hören, so müssen wir sterben! (5Mo 18,16)26Denn wer von allem Fleisch könnte die Stimme des lebendigen Gottes mitten aus dem Feuer reden hören wie wir, und am Leben bleiben? (5Mo 4,33; Hebr 12,22)27Tritt du hinzu und höre alles, was der HERR, unser Gott, reden wird; und du sollst uns alles sagen, was der HERR, unser Gott, zu dir reden wird; und wir wollen darauf hören und es tun! (2Mo 19,8; 2Mo 20,19; Hebr 12,19)28Als aber der HERR den Wortlaut eurer Rede hörte, die ihr mit mir redetet, da sprach der HERR zu mir: Ich habe den Wortlaut der Rede dieses Volkes gehört, die sie mit dir geredet haben. Es ist alles gut, was sie geredet haben. (5Mo 18,17)29O wenn sie doch immer ein solches Herz hätten, mich zu fürchten und alle meine Gebote allezeit zu halten, damit es ihnen gut ginge und ihren Kindern ewiglich! (5Mo 4,40; 5Mo 10,13; Ps 19,12; Ps 81,14; Ps 95,7; Pred 12,13; Jes 48,18; Mt 23,37)30Geh hin und sage ihnen: Kehrt heim in eure Zelte!31Du aber sollst hier bei mir stehen bleiben, damit ich dir alle Gebote und Satzungen und Rechtsbestimmungen verkünde, die du sie lehren sollst, damit sie sie tun in dem Land, das ich ihnen zu besitzen gebe! (5Mo 4,5; 5Mo 6,1; Mal 3,22; Gal 3,19; Hebr 3,5)32So gebt nun acht, dass ihr tut, wie der HERR, euer Gott, euch geboten hat; und weicht nicht ab davon, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken, (5Mo 17,20; Jos 1,7; Ps 119,4)33sondern wandelt in allen Wegen, die euch der HERR, euer Gott, geboten hat, damit ihr lebt und es euch gut geht und ihr lange bleibt in dem Land, das ihr besitzen werdet! Da sollst du keine Arbeit tun, auch nicht dein Sohn, deine Tochter, dein Knecht, deine Magd, dein Rind, dein Esel, all dein Vieh, auch nicht dein Fremdling, der in deiner Stadt lebt, auf dass dein Knecht und deine Magd ruhen gleichwie du.15Denn du sollst daran denken, dass auch du Knecht in Ägyptenland warst und der HERR, dein Gott, dich von dort herausgeführt hat mit mächtiger Hand und ausgerecktem Arm. Darum hat dir der HERR, dein Gott, geboten, dass du den Sabbattag halten sollst. Du sollst nicht begehren deines Nächsten Haus, Acker, Knecht, Magd, Rind, Esel noch alles, was sein ist. (Mi 2,2)22Das sind die Worte, die der HERR redete zu eurer ganzen Gemeinde auf dem Berge, aus dem Feuer und der Wolke und dem Dunkel mit großer Stimme, und tat nichts hinzu und schrieb sie auf zwei steinerne Tafeln und gab sie mir. (2Mo 31,18)
Mose als Mittler zwischen Gott und Israel
23Als ihr aber die Stimme aus der Finsternis hörtet und der Berg im Feuer brannte, tratet ihr zu mir, alle eure Stammeshäupter und eure Ältesten,24und spracht: Siehe, der HERR, unser Gott, hat uns sehen lassen seine Herrlichkeit und seine Majestät, und wir haben seine Stimme aus dem Feuer gehört. Heute haben wir zwar gesehen, dass Gott mit Menschen redet und sie am Leben bleiben. (5Mo 4,12; 5Mo 4,33)25Aber nun, warum sollen wir sterben? Dies große Feuer wird uns noch verzehren! Wenn wir des HERRN, unseres Gottes, Stimme weiter hören, so müssen wir sterben.26Kann denn Sterbliches die Stimme des lebendigen Gottes aus dem Feuer reden hören wie wir und doch am Leben bleiben?27Tritt du hinzu und höre alles, was der HERR, unser Gott, sagt, und sage es uns. Alles, was der HERR, unser Gott, mit dir reden wird, das wollen wir hören und tun.28Als aber der HERR eure Worte hörte, die ihr mit mir redetet, sprach er zu mir: Ich habe gehört die Worte dieses Volks, die sie mit dir geredet haben; es ist alles gut, was sie geredet haben.29Ach dass sie ein solches Herz hätten, mich zu fürchten und zu halten alle meine Gebote ihr Leben lang, auf dass es ihnen und ihren Kindern wohlginge ewiglich! (5Mo 29,3)30Geh hin und sage ihnen: Geht heim in eure Zelte!31Du aber sollst hier vor mir stehen bleiben, damit ich dir verkündige das ganze Gesetz, die Gebote und Rechte, die du sie lehren sollst, dass sie danach tun in dem Lande, das ich ihnen geben werde, um es einzunehmen.32So habt nun acht, dass ihr tut, wie euch der HERR, euer Gott, geboten hat, und weicht nicht, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken, (5Mo 4,2; 5Mo 28,14; Jos 1,7; Spr 4,27)33sondern wandelt auf dem Weg, den euch der HERR, euer Gott, geboten hat, damit ihr leben könnt und es euch wohlgeht und ihr lange lebt in dem Lande, das ihr einnehmen werdet.

Der Bund am Horeb die Zehn Gebote
2Der HERR, unser Gott, hat am Horeb einen Bund mit uns geschlossen.3Nicht mit unseren Vätern hat der HERR diesen Bund geschlossen, sondern mit uns, die wir heute hier stehen, mit uns allen, mit den Lebenden. (5Mo 28,69; 5Mo 29,13)4Von Angesicht zu Angesicht hat der HERR auf dem Berg mitten aus dem Feuer mit euch geredet. (2Mo 19,1; 5Mo 34,10)5Ich stand damals zwischen dem HERRN und euch, um euch das Wort des HERRN zu verkünden; denn ihr wart aus Furcht vor dem Feuer nicht auf den Berg gekommen. Der HERR sprach: (Apg 7,38)6Ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, der dich aus dem Land Ägypten geführt hat, aus dem Sklavenhaus. (2Mo 20,2)7Du sollst neben mir keine anderen Götter haben. (2Mo 23,13)8Du sollst dir kein Kultbild machen, keine Gestalt von irgendetwas am Himmel droben, auf der Erde unten oder im Wasser unter der Erde. (5Mo 4,16; 5Mo 27,15)9Du sollst dich nicht vor ihnen niederwerfen und ihnen nicht dienen. Denn ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, ein eifersüchtiger Gott: Ich suche die Schuld der Väter an den Kindern heim, an der dritten und vierten Generation, bei denen, die mich hassen; (2Mo 34,7; 2Mo 34,14; 4Mo 14,18; 5Mo 7,9)10doch ich erweise Tausenden meine Huld bei denen, die mich lieben und meine Gebote bewahren. (2Mo 23,12; 2Mo 34,21; Mk 2,27; Lk 13,14)14Der siebte Tag ist ein Ruhetag, dem HERRN, deinem Gott, geweiht. An ihm darfst du keine Arbeit tun: du und dein Sohn und deine Tochter und dein Sklave und deine Sklavin und dein Rind und dein Esel und dein ganzes Vieh und dein Fremder in deinen Toren. Dein Sklave und deine Sklavin sollen sich ausruhen wie du.[2]15Gedenke, dass du Sklave warst im Land Ägypten und dass dich der HERR, dein Gott, mit starker Hand und ausgestrecktem Arm von dort herausgeführt hat. Darum hat es dir der HERR, dein Gott, geboten, den Sabbat zu begehen. (5Mo 15,15; 5Mo 16,12; 5Mo 24,18)16Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter, wie es dir der HERR, dein Gott, geboten hat, damit du lange lebst und es dir gut geht in dem Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gibt! (Mt 15,4; Mt 19,18; Mk 7,10; Mk 10,19; Lk 18,20; Röm 13,9; Eph 6,2; Sir 3,1)17Du sollst nicht töten (Mt 5,21; Röm 13,9; Jak 2,11)18und nicht die Ehe brechen (Mt 5,27)19und nicht stehlen20und nicht Falsches gegen deinen Nächsten aussagen21und nicht die Frau deines Nächsten begehren und du sollst nicht das Haus deines Nächsten verlangen, nicht sein Feld, seinen Sklaven oder seine Sklavin, sein Rind oder seinen Esel, nichts, was deinem Nächsten gehört. (Röm 7,7)22Diese Worte sagte der HERR auf dem Berg zu eurer vollzähligen Versammlung, mitten aus dem Feuer, aus Wolken und Dunkel, mit Donners mächtiger Stimme, diese Worte und sonst nichts. Er schrieb sie auf zwei Steintafeln und übergab sie mir. (5Mo 4,12; 5Mo 9,10; 5Mo 10,4; 5Mo 31,30; 5Mo 33,4; Hebr 12,18)
Einsetzung des Mose als Gesetzesmittler
23Als ihr den Donner mitten aus der Finsternis gehört hattet und der Berg immer noch in Feuer stand, seid ihr zu mir gekommen - eure Stammeshäupter und Ältesten - (2Mo 20,18; 5Mo 1,15; 5Mo 18,16; 5Mo 19,12)24und habt gesagt: Sieh, der HERR, unser Gott, hat uns seine Herrlichkeit und Macht gezeigt und wir haben seine donnernde Stimme mitten aus dem Feuer gehört. Heute haben wir gesehen, dass Gott zu Menschen sprach und sie am Leben blieben. (5Mo 4,33)25Trotzdem: Warum sollen wir sterben? Denn dieses große Feuer könnte uns verzehren. Wenn wir noch einmal die donnernde Stimme des HERRN, unseres Gottes, hören, werden wir sterben.26Denn welches Wesen aus Fleisch wäre am Leben geblieben, wenn es wie wir die donnernde Stimme des lebendigen Gottes gehört hätte, als er mitten aus dem Feuer redete?27Geh du allein hin! Höre alles, was der HERR, unser Gott, sagt! Berichte uns dann alles, was der HERR, unser Gott, dir gesagt hat, und wir werden es hören und halten. (2Mo 19,8; 2Mo 24,3)28Der HERR hörte eure Stimme, die Worte, noch während ihr sie an mich gerichtet habt, und der HERR sagte zu mir: Ich habe die Stimme gehört, die Worte, die dieses Volk an dich gerichtet hat. Alles, was sie von dir verlangen, ist recht.29Möchten sie doch diese Gesinnung behalten, mich fürchten und ihr Leben lang alle meine Gebote bewahren, damit es ihnen und ihren Nachkommen immer gut geht.30Geh und sag ihnen: Kehrt zu euren Zelten zurück!31Du aber, stell dich hierher zu mir! Ich will dir das ganze Gebot mitteilen, die Gesetze und die Rechtsentscheide, die du sie lehren sollst und die sie halten sollen in dem Land, das ich ihnen gebe und das sie in Besitz nehmen sollen.32Daher sollt ihr darauf achten, dass ihr handelt, wie der HERR, euer Gott, euch verpflichtet hat. Ihr sollt weder rechts noch links abweichen.33Ihr sollt nur auf dem Weg gehen, auf den der HERR, euer Gott, euch verpflichtet hat, damit ihr Leben habt und es euch gut geht und ihr lange lebt in dem Land, das ihr in Besitz nehmt.

1Moses summoned all Israel and said: Hear, Israel, the decrees and the laws I declare in your hearing today. Learn them and be sure to follow them.2The Lord our God made a covenant with us at Horeb.3It was not with our ancestors[1] that the Lord made this covenant, but with us, with all of us who are alive here today.4The Lord spoke to you face to face out of the fire on the mountain.5(At that time I stood between the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain.) And he said:6‘I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.7‘You shall have no other gods before[2] me.8You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.9You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,10but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.11You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.12Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you.13Six days you shall labour and do all your work,14but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. You shall not set your desire on your neighbour’s house or land, his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.’22These are the commandments the Lord proclaimed in a loud voice to your whole assembly there on the mountain from out of the fire, the cloud and the deep darkness; and he added nothing more. Then he wrote them on two stone tablets and gave them to me.23When you heard the voice out of the darkness, while the mountain was ablaze with fire, all the leaders of your tribes and your elders came to me.24And you said, ‘The Lord our God has shown us his glory and his majesty, and we have heard his voice from the fire. Today we have seen that a person can live even if God speaks with them.25But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us, and we will die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer.26For what mortal has ever heard the voice of the living God speaking out of fire, as we have, and survived?27Go near and listen to all that the Lord our God says. Then tell us whatever the Lord our God tells you. We will listen and obey.’28The Lord heard you when you spoke to me, and the Lord said to me, ‘I have heard what this people said to you. Everything they said was good.29Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children for ever!30‘Go, tell them to return to their tents.31But you stay here with me so that I may give you all the commands, decrees and laws that you are to teach them to follow in the land I am giving them to possess.’32So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left.33Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
