1Die Priester, die Leviten, der ganze Stamm Levi sollen kein Teil noch Erbe haben mit Israel; sie sollen die Feueropfer des HERRN essen und was Ihm zusteht. (4Mo 18,8; 5Mo 10,9; 1Kor 9,13)2Darum soll er kein Erbe unter seinen Brüdern haben, weil der HERR sein Erbe ist, wie er es ihm verheißen hat. (4Mo 18,20; Kla 3,24)3Das soll aber das Recht der Priester sein, was ihnen vonseiten des Volkes zusteht, vonseiten derer, welche die Schlachtopfer opfern, es sei ein Rind oder Schaf: Man soll dem Priester die Vorderkeule, die Kinnbacken und den Magen geben. Verbot von Wahrsagung und Zauberei
9Wenn du in das Land kommst, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gibt, so sollst du nicht lernen, nach den Gräueln jener Heidenvölker zu handeln. Der verheißene Prophet und die falschen Propheten
15Einen Propheten wie mich wird dir der HERR, dein Gott, erwecken aus deiner Mitte, aus deinen Brüdern; auf ihn sollst du hören! (5Mo 17,15; 5Mo 18,18; Mt 17,5; Joh 1,46; Joh 6,14; Joh 9,17; Apg 3,22; Hebr 1,1)16Ganz so, wie du es von dem HERRN, deinem Gott, am Horeb erbeten hast am Tag der Versammlung, indem du sprachst: Ich will von nun an die Stimme des HERRN, meines Gottes, nicht mehr hören und das große Feuer nicht mehr sehen, damit ich nicht sterbe! (5Mo 5,25)17Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Sie haben recht geredet. (5Mo 5,28)18Ich will ihnen einen Propheten, wie du es bist, aus der Mitte ihrer Brüder erwecken und meine Worte in seinen Mund legen; der soll alles zu ihnen reden, was ich ihm gebieten werde. Das Prophetengesetz
9Wenn du in das Land kommst, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, geben wird, so sollst du nicht lernen, die Gräuel dieser Völker zu tun,10dass nicht jemand unter dir gefunden werde, der seinen Sohn oder seine Tochter durchs Feuer gehen lässt oder Wahrsagerei, Hellseherei, geheime Künste oder Zauberei treibt (3Mo 18,21; 3Mo 19,26; 3Mo 19,31)11oder Bannungen oder Geisterbeschwörungen oder Zeichendeuterei vornimmt oder die Toten befragt. (3Mo 20,27; 1Sam 28,3)12Denn wer das tut, der ist dem HERRN ein Gräuel, und um solcher Gräuel willen vertreibt der HERR, dein Gott, die Völker vor dir.13Du aber sollst untadelig sein vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott. Der Prophet hat’s aus Vermessenheit geredet; darum scheue dich nicht vor ihm. (Jer 23,14; Jer 28,1; Hes 13,3)
1Die levitischen Priester - der ganze Stamm Levi - sollen nicht wie das übrige Israel Landanteil und Erbbesitz haben. Sie sollen sich von den Opferanteilen des HERRN, von seinem Erbbesitz, ernähren. (4Mo 18,20; 5Mo 10,8; 1Sam 2,28; Hes 44,28; 1Kor 9,13)2Der Stamm Levi soll inmitten seiner Brüder leben, aber keinen Erbbesitz haben. Der HERR selbst ist sein Erbbesitz, wie er es ihm zugesagt hat.3Und das ist das Recht, das die Priester gegenüber dem Volk haben, gegenüber denen, die ein Schlachtopfertier schlachten, sei es ein Stier oder ein Lamm: Man soll dem Priester den Bug, die Kinnbacken und den Labmagen geben.4Du sollst ihm den ersten Ertrag von Korn, Wein und Öl und den ersten Ertrag der Schafschur geben. (5Mo 26,1)5Denn der HERR, dein Gott, hat den Stamm Levi unter allen deinen Stämmen dazu ausgewählt, dass er im Namen des HERRN dasteht und Dienst tut - Levi und seine Nachkommen, ihr Leben lang. (5Mo 10,8)6Wenn ein Levit aus einem deiner Stadtbereiche irgendwo in Israel, in dem er als Fremder gewohnt hat, zu der Stätte kommt, die der HERR erwählen wird, und zwar, wann immer er möchte, (5Mo 12,14; 2Kön 23,9)7und wenn er dann wie alle seine levitischen Brüder, die dort vor dem HERRN stehen, im Namen des HERRN, seines Gottes, Dienst tut,8sollen alle die gleiche Zuteilung erhalten, ohne dass man berücksichtigt, wie groß sein väterliches Vermögen ist.
Zauberer und Propheten
9Wenn du in das Land hineinziehst, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gibt, sollst du nicht lernen, die Gräuel dieser Völker nachzuahmen. (3Mo 18,2; 3Mo 20,2; 5Mo 12,31; 5Mo 20,18; 1Kön 14,24; 2Kön 16,3; 2Kön 21,2; 2Kön 23,13)10Es soll bei dir keinen geben, der seinen Sohn oder seine Tochter durchs Feuer gehen lässt, keinen, der Losorakel befragt, Wolken deutet, aus dem Becher weissagt, zaubert, (2Mo 22,17; 3Mo 19,26; 2Kön 9,22; 2Kön 16,3; 2Kön 17,17; 2Kön 21,6; 2Kön 23,10; Jer 32,35)11Gebetsbeschwörungen hersagt oder Totengeister befragt, keinen Hellseher, keinen, der Verstorbene um Rat fragt. (3Mo 19,31; 3Mo 20,6; 1Sam 28,3; 2Kön 21,6; 2Kön 23,24)12Denn jeder, der so etwas tut, ist dem HERRN ein Gräuel. Wegen dieser Gräuel rottet sie der HERR, dein Gott, aus. (2Mo 7,2; Ps 40,4; Jer 1,7)19Den aber, der nicht auf meine Worte hört, die der Prophet in meinem Namen verkünden wird, ziehe ich selbst zur Rechenschaft.20Doch ein Prophet, der sich anmaßt, in meinem Namen ein Wort zu verkünden, dessen Verkündigung ich ihm nicht geboten habe, oder der im Namen anderer Götter spricht, ein solcher Prophet soll sterben. (Jer 14,14; Jer 29,23)21Und wenn du denkst: Woran können wir ein Wort erkennen, das der HERR nicht gesprochen hat?, (5Mo 13,2; 1Kön 22,28; Jer 28,8; Hes 33,33)22dann sollst du wissen: Wenn ein Prophet im Namen des HERRN verkündet und sein Wort sich nicht erfüllt und nicht eintrifft, dann ist es ein Wort, das nicht der HERR gesprochen hat. Der Prophet hat sich nur angemaßt, es zu sprechen. Du sollst dich dadurch nicht aus der Fassung bringen lassen.

Abominable Practices
9“When you come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. (3Mo 18,26; 5Mo 12,29)10There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering,[5] anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer (2Mo 22,18; 3Mo 18,21; 3Mo 19,26; 2Kön 17,17)11or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, (3Mo 19,31; 1Sam 28,7)12for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you. (5Mo 9,4; 5Mo 22,5; 5Mo 25,16)13You shall be blameless before the LORD your God,14for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you to do this.
A New Prophet like Moses
15“The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen— (Joh 1,21; Joh 1,25; Joh 1,45; Apg 3,22; Apg 7,37)16just as you desired of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’ (2Mo 20,19; 5Mo 9,10)17And the LORD said to me, ‘They are right in what they have spoken. (5Mo 5,28)18I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. Occult practices
9When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there.10Let no-one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practises divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,11or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.12Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.13You must be blameless before the Lord your God.
The prophet
14The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practise sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so.15The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.16For this is what you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, ‘Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.’17The Lord said to me: ‘What they say is good.18I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.19I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.20But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.’21You may say to yourselves, ‘How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?’22If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
