1Es geschah aber im vierten Jahr des Königs Darius, dass das Wort des HERRN an Sacharja erging, am vierten Tag des neunten Monats, im [Monat] Kislev. (Neh 1,1; Sach 1,1)2Damals sandte Bethel den Sarezer und Regem-Melech samt seinen Leuten, um das Angesicht des HERRN zu besänftigen, (2Mo 32,11; 1Kön 13,6; Jer 26,19)3indem sie die Priester am Haus des HERRN der Heerscharen und die Propheten fragten: Soll ich auch fernerhin im fünften Monat weinen und mich enthalten, wie ich es nun so viele Jahre getan habe?[1] (5Mo 17,9; 5Mo 33,8; 2Sam 1,12; Esr 8,23; Neh 9,1; Est 4,16; Jes 58,3; Sach 7,5; Mal 2,7; Mt 6,16)4Da erging das Wort des HERRN der Heerscharen an mich folgendermaßen: (Sach 7,1)5Rede zu dem ganzen Volk des Landes und zu den Priestern und sprich: Wenn ihr jeweils im fünften und siebten Monat gefastet und geklagt habt, und zwar schon diese 70 Jahre — habt ihr denn da für mich gefastet? (Jer 25,11; Dan 9,2; Dan 9,24; Sach 1,12; Sach 7,3)6Und wenn ihr esst und wenn ihr trinkt, esst und trinkt ihr dann nicht für euch? (Röm 14,6; 1Kor 10,31)7Sind nicht dies die Worte, welche der HERR durch die früheren Propheten verkündigen ließ, als Jerusalem noch bewohnt war und Frieden hatte samt den umliegenden Städten, und als auch der Negev und die Schephela noch bewohnt waren? (Jos 15,21; Sach 1,4; Sach 7,12)8Und das Wort des HERRN erging an Sacharja folgendermaßen: (Sach 7,1)9So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Übt getreulich Recht, und jeder erweise seinem Bruder Gnade und Erbarmen; (Ps 82,3; Spr 21,3; Jes 56,1; Jes 58,6; Hos 6,6; Hos 12,7; Mi 6,8)10bedrückt nicht die Witwen und Waisen, auch nicht den Fremdling und den Armen, und keiner sinne Böses in seinem Herzen gegen seinen Bruder! (5Mo 24,17; Spr 3,29; Jes 1,17; Sach 8,17)11Aber damals weigerten sie sich, darauf zu achten, und sie waren halsstarrig und verstopften ihre Ohren, um nicht zu hören. (Neh 9,29; Jer 7,24; Hos 4,16; Sach 1,14)12Und sie machten ihre Herzen [so hart ] wie Diamant und wollten das Gesetz nicht hören, noch die Worte, die der HERR der Heerscharen durch seinen Geist, durch die früheren Propheten gesandt hatte. Daher kam ein großes Zorngericht vonseiten des HERRN der Heerscharen [über sie]. (5Mo 32,21; 1Kön 14,15; 1Kön 22,54; 2Chr 36,16; Jer 5,3; Hes 11,19; Sach 1,4)13Und es geschah, ebenso wie sie nicht gehört hatten, als er rief, ebenso — spricht der HERR der Heerscharen — hörte auch ich nicht, als sie riefen; (Spr 1,24; Jer 14,12; Mi 3,4)14sondern ich verwehte sie wie ein Sturm unter alle Heidenvölker, die ihnen unbekannt gewesen waren; und das Land wurde hinter ihnen her verwüstet, dass niemand mehr hindurchzieht und zurückkehrt; und so haben sie das liebliche Land zu einer Wüste gemacht. 1And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;2When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,3And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?4Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying,5Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month , even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?6And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves , and drink for yourselves ?7Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?8And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,9Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:10And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.11But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.12Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.13Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:14But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
