1 Dem Vorsänger. Auf der Gittit. Ein Psalm Davids. (Ps 81,1; Ps 84,1) 

2 HERR, unser Herrscher, wie herrlich ist dein Name auf der ganzen Erde, der du deine Hoheit über die Himmel gesetzt hast! (Ri 13,18; Neh 9,5; Ps 148,13; Jes 60,1; Hebr 1,3) 

3 Aus dem Mund von Kindern und Säuglingen hast du ein Lob bereitet um deiner Bedränger willen, um den Feind und den Rachgierigen zum Schweigen zu bringen. (Ps 107,42; Mt 21,16; Lk 10,21; 1Kor 1,27) 

4 Wenn ich deinen Himmel betrachte, das Werk deiner Finger, den Mond und die Sterne, die du bereitet hast: (5Mo 4,19; Ps 19,2; Ps 33,6; Ps 102,26; Ps 136,7; Ps 136,9; Ps 148,3; Jes 40,22) 

5 Was ist der Mensch, dass du an ihn gedenkst, und der Sohn des Menschen, dass du auf ihn achtest? (1Mo 2,7; Jes 2,22; Dan 7,13; Mt 10,29; Lk 19,10; Joh 3,13; 1Tim 2,4; Hebr 2,6) 

6 Du hast ihn ein wenig niedriger gemacht als die Engel; mit Herrlichkeit und Ehre hast du ihn gekrönt. (Phil 2,7; Hebr 2,7; 1Petr 1,20) 

7 Du hast ihn zum Herrscher über die Werke deiner Hände gemacht; alles hast du unter seine Füße gelegt: (1Mo 1,26; 1Kor 15,27; Hebr 2,8) 

8 Schafe und Rinder allesamt, dazu auch die Tiere des Feldes; (1Mo 1,26; 1Mo 2,19) 

9 die Vögel des Himmels und die Fische im Meer, alles, was die Pfade der Meere durchzieht. (Hi 38,39; Hi 40,15; Ps 148,10) 

10 HERR, unser Herrscher, wie herrlich ist dein Name auf der ganzen Erde! (5Mo 33,26; Ps 8,2; Ps 104,24)

King James Version

1 To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. 

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. 

3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 

4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 

5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 

6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 

7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 

8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. 

9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
