1Naeman, der Heerführer des Königs von Aram, war ein hoch angesehener Mann vor seinem Herrn und geschätzt; denn durch ihn gab der HERR den Aramäern Sieg. Aber dieser gewaltige, tapfere Mann war aussätzig. (Lk 4,27; Joh 13,7; 1Kor 4,7; 2Kor 12,7)2Und die Aramäer waren in Streifscharen ausgezogen und hatten ein kleines Mädchen aus dem Land Israel entführt, das nun im Dienst von Naemans Frau war. (2Kön 6,23; 2Kön 13,20; Mt 18,10; 1Kor 1,27)3Und sie sprach zu ihrer Herrin: Ach, dass mein Herr bei dem Propheten wäre, der in Samaria wohnt; der würde ihn von seinem Aussatz befreien! (4Mo 11,29; Ps 8,3; Jer 29,7; Apg 26,29; 1Tim 6,1)4Da ging Naeman hinein zu seinem Herrn und sagte es ihm und sprach: So und so hat das Mädchen aus dem Land Israel geredet! (Ps 105,2; Ps 145,5)5Da sprach der König von Aram: Geh, ziehe hin, und ich will dem König von Israel einen Brief schicken! Da ging er hin und nahm zehn Talente Silber und 6 000 Goldstücke und zehn Festgewänder mit sich. (1Mo 45,22; 1Sam 9,8; Spr 18,16)6Und er brachte dem König von Israel den Brief; darin stand: »Und nun, wenn dieser Brief zu dir kommt, so siehe: Ich habe meinen Knecht Naeman zu dir gesandt, damit du ihn von seinem Aussatz befreist!« (2Kön 5,5)7Und es geschah, als der König von Israel den Brief gelesen hatte, zerriss er seine Kleider und sprach: Bin ich denn Gott, sodass ich töten und lebendig machen könnte, dass dieser von mir verlangt, ich solle einen Mann von seinem Aussatz befreien? Da erkennt ihr doch und seht, dass er einen Anlass zum Streit mit mir sucht! (5Mo 32,39; 1Sam 2,6; 1Kön 20,7; Spr 28,1; Jes 37,14)8Und es geschah, als Elisa, der Mann Gottes, hörte, dass der König von Israel seine Kleider zerrissen habe, da sandte er zum König und ließ ihm sagen: Warum hast du deine Kleider zerrissen? Er soll zu mir kommen, dann wird er erkennen, dass es einen Propheten in Israel gibt! (1Kön 18,36; Est 4,4; Hes 2,5; Mt 14,31; 1Tim 6,11)9So kam Naeman mit seinen Pferden und mit seinen Wagen und hielt vor der Tür des Hauses Elisas. (2Kön 3,12; 2Kön 6,32; Jes 60,14)10Da sandte Elisa einen Boten zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Geh hin und wasche dich sieben Mal im Jordan, so wird dir dein Fleisch wiederhergestellt, und du wirst rein werden! (2Kön 5,14; Joh 9,7)11Da wurde Naeman zornig, ging weg und sprach: Siehe, ich dachte, er wird sicher zu mir herauskommen und hinzutreten und den Namen des HERRN, seines Gottes, anrufen, und mit seiner Hand über die Stelle fahren und so den Aussätzigen befreien! (Ps 32,8; Spr 3,5; Spr 3,7; Jes 55,8; Joh 4,47; 1Kor 2,9)12Sind nicht die Flüsse Abana und Parpar in Damaskus besser als alle Wasser in Israel? Kann ich mich nicht darin waschen und rein werden? Und er wandte sich ab und ging zornig davon. (Mt 18,3)13Da traten seine Knechte zu ihm, redeten mit ihm und sprachen: Mein Vater, wenn dir der Prophet etwas Großes befohlen hätte, würdest du es nicht tun? Wie viel mehr denn, da er zu dir gesagt hat: Wasche dich, so wirst du rein! (2Kön 2,12; Hi 2,4; 1Kor 1,21)14Da stieg er hinab und tauchte sich sieben Mal im Jordan unter, nach dem Wort des Mannes Gottes; und sein Fleisch wurde wieder wie das Fleisch eines jungen Knaben, und er wurde rein. Und er ging hinein, trat vor ihn und sprach: Siehe, nun weiß ich, dass es keinen Gott auf der ganzen Erde gibt, außer in Israel! Und nun nimm doch ein Geschenk an von deinem Knecht! (5Mo 4,35; 1Kön 17,24; Dan 2,47; Lk 17,15)16Er aber sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, vor dessen Angesicht ich stehe, ich nehme nichts! Da nötigte er ihn, es zu nehmen, aber er weigerte sich. (1Mo 14,22; 2Kön 3,14; Dan 5,17; Mt 10,8; Apg 3,12; 1Kor 4,1)17Da sprach Naeman: Könnte deinem Knecht nicht eine doppelte Maultierlast Erde gegeben werden? Denn dein Knecht will nicht mehr anderen Göttern Brandopfer und Schlachtopfer darbringen, sondern nur dem HERRN. (2Mo 20,24; 1Thess 1,9)18Nur darin wolle der HERR deinem Knecht vergeben: Wenn mein Herr in das Haus des Rimmon[1] geht, um sich dort niederzubeugen — denn er stützt sich auf meinen Arm, und auch ich beuge mich nieder in dem Haus des Rimmon —, ja, wenn ich mich niederbeuge im Haus des Rimmon, so wolle der HERR deinem Knecht in dieser Sache vergeben! Die Untreue des Gehasi
20Da dachte Gehasi, der Diener Elisas, des Mannes Gottes: Siehe, mein Herr hat Naeman, diesen Aramäer, geschont, indem er nichts von ihm genommen hat, was er mitbrachte; so wahr der HERR lebt, ich will ihm nachlaufen und etwas von ihm nehmen! (2Mo 20,7; 2Mo 20,17; 1Kön 10,8; 2Kön 4,12; 2Kön 4,25; Jes 48,1; Hab 2,9; Mk 7,21; 1Tim 6,9)21So jagte Gehasi dem Naeman nach. Und als Naeman sah, dass er ihm nachlief, sprang er vom Streitwagen, ihm entgegen, und sprach: Geht es dir gut? (Spr 1,16; Jak 1,15)22Und er sprach: Ja! Mein Herr hat mich gesandt, um dir zu sagen: Siehe, eben jetzt sind zwei junge Männer von den Prophetensöhnen aus dem Bergland Ephraim zu mir gekommen. Gib ihnen doch ein Talent Silber und zwei Festgewänder! (Spr 6,16; Spr 19,1; Jer 9,3; Jer 9,5)23Und Naeman sprach: Tu mir den Gefallen und nimm zwei Talente! 1Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.2And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman' wife.3And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.4And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.5And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel.
