Die Herrlichkeit des Herrn erfüllt den Tempel. Die Opfer Salomos und das Fest

1 Als nun Salomo sein Gebet vollendet hatte, da fiel Feuer vom Himmel und verzehrte das Brandopfer und die Schlachtopfer. Und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN erfüllte das Haus, (3Mo 9,24; 1Kön 18,38; 1Chr 21,26; 2Chr 5,13)

2 sodass die Priester nicht in das Haus des HERRN hineingehen konnten, weil die Herrlichkeit des HERRN das Haus des HERRN erfüllte. (2Mo 24,17; 2Chr 5,14; Jes 6,5; Offb 15,8)

3 Als aber alle Kinder Israels das Feuer herabfallen sahen und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN über dem Haus, da fielen sie auf ihre Knie, mit dem Angesicht zur Erde, auf das Pflaster, und beteten an und dankten dem HERRN, dass er gütig ist und seine Gnade ewiglich währt. 4 Und der König und das ganze Volk opferten Schlachtopfer vor dem HERRN. (2Chr 5,6) 5 Und der König Salomo opferte als Schlachtopfer 22 000 Rinder und 120 000 Schafe. So weihten der König und das ganze Volk das Haus Gottes ein. (1Kön 8,62; Esr 6,16; Hes 45,17) 6 Die Priester aber standen auf ihren Posten und die Leviten mit den Musikinstrumenten des HERRN, die der König David hatte machen lassen, um dem HERRN zu danken, dass seine Gnade ewig währt. Während sie den Lobpreis Davids darbrachten, bliesen die Priester ihnen gegenüber die Trompeten, und ganz Israel stand dabei. 7 Und Salomo heiligte den inneren Bereich des Vorhofes, der vor dem Haus des HERRN war; denn er brachte dort Brandopfer dar und die Fettstücke der Friedensopfer; denn der eherne Altar, den Salomo hatte machen lassen, konnte die Brandopfer und Speisopfer und die Fettstücke nicht fassen. 8 So feierte Salomo zu jener Zeit das Fest,^[1] sieben Tage lang, und ganz Israel mit ihm, eine sehr große Gemeinde, von Lebo-Hamat an bis zum Bach Ägyptens;^[2] (1Mo 15,18; 1Kön 5,1; 2Chr 5,3; 2Chr 7,6; 2Chr 30,13; Am 6,14)

9 und sie hielten am achten Tag eine feierliche Festversammlung. Denn die Einweihung des Altars hatten sie sieben Tage lang gefeiert und das Fest auch sieben Tage lang. (2Mo 29,37; 3Mo 23,36; 1Kön 8,65) 10 Aber am dreiundzwanzigsten Tag des siebten Monats ließ er das Volk in ihre Zelte ziehen, fröhlich und guten Mutes wegen all des Guten, das der HERR an David, Salomo und seinem Volk Israel getan hatte. Der Herr erscheint Salomo zum zweiten Mal

11 Und so vollendete Salomo das Haus des HERRN und das Haus des Königs; und alles, was Salomo im Sinn gehabt hatte, im Haus des HERRN und in seinem Haus zu machen, das war ihm gelungen. (1Kön 9,1; Ps 1,3; Pred 2,4) 12 Da erschien der HERR dem Salomo in der Nacht und sprach zu ihm: »Ich habe dein Gebet erhört und mir diesen Ort zur Opferstätte erwählt. (5Mo 12,5; 5Mo 12,11; 2Chr 2,6) 13 Wenn ich den Himmel verschließe, sodass es nicht regnet, oder den Heuschrecken gebiete, das Land abzufressen, oder wenn ich eine Pest unter mein Volk sende (2Chr 6,26) 14 und mein Volk, über dem mein Name ausgerufen worden ist, demütigt sich, und sie beten und suchen mein Angesicht und kehren um von ihren bösen Wegen, so will ich es vom Himmel her hören und ihre Sünden vergeben und ihr Land heilen. 15 So sollen nun meine Augen offen stehen und meine Ohren achten auf das Gebet an diesem Ort. (2Chr 6,40; 1Petr 3,12) 16 Ich habe nun dieses Haus erwählt und geheiligt, dass mein Name ewiglich dort sein soll; und meine Augen und mein Herz sollen da sein alle Tage. 18 so will ich den Thron deines Königtums über Israel auf ewig befestigen, gemäß dem Bund, den ich mit deinem Vater David gemacht habe, indem ich sagte: Es soll dir nicht fehlen an einem Mann, der über Israel herrscht. 21 Und über dieses Haus, das erhaben gewesen ist, wird [dann] jeder, der an ihm vorübergeht, sich entsetzen und sagen: Warum hat der HERR diesem Land und diesem Haus so etwas angetan? (5Mo 29,24; Jer 5,19; Jer 16,10; Jer 22,8; Jer 22,28)

22 Dann wird man antworten: Weil sie den HERRN, den Gott ihrer Väter, der sie aus dem Land Ägypten geführt hat, verlassen haben und sich an andere Götter gehängt und sie angebetet und ihnen gedient haben — darum hat er all dieses Unheil über sie gebracht!« (Ri 2,11; 2Chr 36,16; Jer 1,16; Hes 14,23; Hes 36,17; Dan 9,12)

1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. 2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD' house. 3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying , For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. 4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. 5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. 6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood. 7 Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat. 8 Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt. 9 And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days. 10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people. 11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king' house: and all that came into Solomon' heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected. 12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. 13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments; 18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel. 19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; 20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations. 21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house? 22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
