1Freue dich nicht, Israel, wie die Völker frohlocken; denn du bist deinem Gott durch Hurerei untreu geworden, hast gerne Hurenlohn genommen auf allen Korntennen! (Jer 2,13; Jer 2,19; Jer 44,17; Hos 2,14; Hos 4,12)2Tenne und Kelter werden sie nicht nähren, und der Most wird sie im Stich lassen. (Hos 2,11; Am 5,11; Mi 6,15)3Sie sollen nicht bleiben im Land des HERRN, sondern Ephraim muss nach Ägypten zurückkehren und in Assyrien unreine Speisen essen. (1Kön 9,7; 2Kön 17,6; Jer 2,7; Hes 4,13; Hos 8,13)4Sie sollen dem HERRN keinen Wein [zum Trankopfer ] spenden, und an ihren Schlachtopfern wird er kein Wohlgefallen haben; wie Trauerbrot sollen sie ihnen sein; alle, die davon essen, verunreinigen sich damit; denn ihr Brot ist nur für ihren Hunger, es soll nicht ins Haus des HERRN kommen! (Ps 137,3)6Denn siehe, wenn sie wegen der Verwüstung weggezogen sind, so wird Ägypten sie aufnehmen, Memphis sie begraben; Disteln werden ihre silbernen Kleinodien überwuchern, Dornen ihre Hütten. (3Mo 26,33; Hos 8,13)7Die Tage der Heimsuchung sind gekommen, die Tage der Vergeltung sind da! Israel soll erfahren, ob der Prophet ein Narr sei, der Geistesmensch wahnsinnig! Und das um deiner großen Schuld willen, weil du so feindselig bist. (Jer 9,1; Jer 20,14; Hos 5,9; Am 8,2; Mi 3,7)8Ephraim schaut nach [Gesichten] aus neben meinem Gott; dem Propheten sind auf allen seinen Wegen Vogelfallen gelegt; im Haus seines Gottes feindet man ihn an. (Jer 11,19; Jer 20,10)9In tiefe Verderbnis sind sie versunken, wie vor Zeiten in Gibea;[1] er wird an ihre Missetat gedenken, ihre Sünden wird er strafen. (Ri 19,13; Ri 20,13; Hos 8,13; Hos 10,9)10Wie Trauben in der Wüste, so fand ich Israel; wie eine frühreife Frucht am jungen Feigenbaum erblickte ich eure Väter; sie aber gingen zum Baal-Peor und weihten sich der Schande und wurden zum Gräuel wie der, den sie lieben. (4Mo 14,34; 2Kön 17,23; Hes 5,17; Hos 9,13; Hos 9,16)13Ephraim, wie ich ihn sehe, ist gepflanzt wie Tyrus in der Aue; aber er muss seine Söhne zu dem hinausführen, der sie erwürgen wird! (5Mo 33,13; Hos 9,12; Hos 14,1)14Gib ihnen, HERR — was willst du ihnen geben? —, gib ihnen einen unfruchtbaren Leib und trockene Brüste! (Lk 23,29)15Alle ihre Bosheit stammt von Gilgal her, sodass ich sie dort zu hassen begann; wegen ihrer schlimmen Handlungen will ich sie aus meinem Haus vertreiben; ich kann sie nicht mehr lieben; alle ihre Fürsten sind Abtrünnige! (Jes 1,23; Jer 15,1; Hos 4,15)16Ephraim ist geschlagen, ihre Wurzel ist verdorrt; sie bringen keine Frucht! Wenn sie auch Kinder gebären, so werde ich doch die Lieblinge töten, die aus ihrem Leib hervorkommen. (5Mo 32,39; Hos 9,12; Mt 21,19)17Mein Gott wird sie verwerfen, weil sie ihm nicht gehorcht haben; darum müssen sie als Flüchtlinge umherirren unter den Heidenvölkern. (5Mo 28,64; Jer 7,13; Jer 7,15)
1Rejoice not, O Israel! Exult not like the peoples; for you have played the whore, forsaking your God. You have loved a prostitute’s wages on all threshing floors. The prophet is a fool; the man of the spirit is mad, because of your great iniquity and great hatred. (Jes 10,3; Hes 13,3)8The prophet is the watchman of Ephraim with my God; yet a fowler’s snare is on all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God. (Ps 91,3; Hes 3,17; Hos 5,1)9They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah: he will remember their iniquity; he will punish their sins. (Ri 19,22; Hos 5,2; Hos 10,9)10Like grapes in the wilderness, I found Israel. Like the first fruit on the fig tree in its first season, I saw your fathers. But they came to Baal-peor and consecrated themselves to the thing of shame, and became detestable like the thing they loved. (4Mo 25,3; Ps 80,8; Ps 106,28; Jes 5,1; Hos 4,14; Röm 1,28)11Ephraim’s glory shall fly away like a bird— no birth, no pregnancy, no conception! (Jes 26,18; Hos 4,7; Hos 10,5)12Even if they bring up children, I will bereave them till none is left. Woe to them when I depart from them! (1Sam 28,15; Hes 10,18; Hos 5,6; Hos 7,13; Hos 13,16)13Ephraim, as I have seen, was like a young palm[1] planted in a meadow; but Ephraim must lead his children out to slaughter.[2] (Hes 27,3; Hos 9,12)14Give them, O Lord— what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. (Lk 23,29)15Every evil of theirs is in Gilgal; there I began to hate them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house. I will love them no more; all their princes are rebels. (Hos 4,15; Hos 5,2; Hos 8,4; Hos 12,11)16Ephraim is stricken; their root is dried up; they shall bear no fruit. Even though they give birth, I will put their beloved children to death.
