Ermahnung zum Gehorsam und Erinnerung an Gottes Erziehungswege
1Das ganze Gebot, das ich dir heute gebiete, sollt ihr bewahren, um es zu tun, damit ihr lebt und euch mehrt und hineinkommt und das Land in Besitz nehmt, das der HERR euren Vätern zugeschworen hat. (5Mo 5,32; 1Thess 4,1)2Und du sollst an den ganzen Weg gedenken, durch den der HERR, dein Gott, dich geführt hat diese 40 Jahre lang in der Wüste, um dich zu demütigen, um dich zu prüfen, damit offenbar würde, was in deinem Herzen ist, ob du seine Gebote halten würdest oder nicht. (2Mo 15,25; 5Mo 5,15; 2Chr 32,31; Hi 33,17; Ps 81,8; Ps 119,67; Ps 119,71; Ps 136,16; Ps 143,5; Spr 17,3; Jes 48,10; Jer 2,6; Am 2,10; Sach 13,9; 1Petr 1,7)3Und er demütigte dich und ließ dich hungern und speiste dich mit dem Manna, das weder du noch deine Väter gekannt hatten, um dich erkennen zu lassen, dass der Mensch nicht vom Brot allein lebt, sondern dass er von all dem lebt, was aus dem Mund des HERRN hervorgeht. (2Mo 16,2; 2Mo 16,35; Mt 4,4; Lk 4,4; Joh 6,31)4Deine Kleider sind nicht zerlumpt an dir, und deine Füße sind nicht geschwollen diese 40 Jahre. (Neh 9,21; Ps 91,12)5So erkenne nun in deinem Herzen, dass der HERR, dein Gott, dich erzieht, wie ein Mann seinen Sohn erzieht. (Hi 5,17; Spr 3,12; 1Kor 11,32; Hebr 12,5)6Und bewahre die Gebote des HERRN, deines Gottes, dass du in seinen Wegen wandelst und ihn fürchtest! (Jos 22,5; 1Sam 12,24)7Denn der HERR, dein Gott, bringt dich in ein gutes Land, in ein Land, in dem Wasserbäche, Quellen und Seen sind, die in den Tälern und auf den Bergen entspringen; (5Mo 11,10)8ein Land, in dem Weizen, Gerste, Weinstöcke, Feigenbäume und Granatäpfel gedeihen, ein Land voller Olivenbäume und Honig; (2Mo 3,8)9ein Land, von dem du dich nicht kümmerlich nähren musst, in dem es dir an nichts mangelt; ein Land, dessen Steine Eisen sind, wo du Erz aus den Bergen hauen wirst. Ermahnung zur Dankbarkeit. Warnung vor Hochmut und Abkehr von Gott
10Und wenn du gegessen hast und satt geworden bist, dann sollst du den HERRN, deinen Gott, loben für das gute Land, das er dir gegeben hat. (Ps 103,2)11Hüte dich, dass du den HERRN, deinen Gott, nicht vergisst, sodass du seine Gebote, seine Satzungen und Rechtsbestimmungen, die ich dir heute gebiete, nicht hältst; (5Mo 7,11; 1Sam 12,9; Hi 8,13)12damit nicht, wenn du isst und satt wirst und schöne Häuser erbaust und darin wohnst, (Neh 9,25)13und deine Rinder und Schafe sich mehren, und dein Silber und Gold sich mehren, und alles, was du hast, sich mehrt, (1Mo 13,1; Hi 1,3; Ps 39,7; Lk 12,13)14[damit nicht] dann dein Herz sich überhebt und du den HERRN, deinen Gott, vergisst, der dich aus dem Land Ägypten herausgeführt hat, aus dem Haus der Knechtschaft, (5Mo 8,11; Spr 30,9; Jes 17,10; 1Tim 6,17)15[ihn,] der dich durch diese große und schreckliche Wüste geleitet hat, wo feurige Schlangen waren und Skorpione und dürres Land ohne Wasser; der dir Wasser aus dem harten Felsen entspringen ließ; (2Mo 17,5; 4Mo 20,11; 4Mo 21,6; 5Mo 8,2)16der dich in der Wüste mit Manna speiste, von dem deine Väter nichts wussten, um dich zu demütigen und zu prüfen, damit er dir am Ende Gutes tue; (5Mo 8,3; Jer 29,11; Röm 8,28; Hebr 12,11)17und damit du nicht in deinem Herzen sagst: Meine eigene Kraft und die Stärke meiner Hand hat mir diesen Reichtum verschafft! (Röm 9,16; 1Kor 4,7; Eph 4,8)18So gedenke doch an den HERRN, deinen Gott — denn Er ist es, der dir Kraft gibt, solchen Reichtum zu erwerben —, damit er seinen Bund aufrechterhält, den er deinen Vätern geschworen hat, wie es heute geschieht. (5Mo 7,9; 5Mo 7,12; 5Mo 8,14; Ps 127,1; Spr 10,22; Hos 2,10)19Wenn du aber den HERRN, deinen Gott, wirklich vergisst und anderen Göttern nachfolgst und ihnen dienst und sie anbetest, so bezeuge ich heute gegen euch, dass ihr gewiss umkommen werdet. (5Mo 4,26; 1Sam 12,25)20Wie die Heiden, die der HERR vor eurem Angesicht ausrottet, so werdet auch ihr umkommen, weil ihr der Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes, nicht gehorsam seid. (2Sam 7,14; Spr 3,12; Spr 29,17; Hos 10,10; Hebr 12,5; Offb 3,19)6So you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him.7For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, (5Mo 11,10)8a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, (4Mo 20,5)9a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper.10And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.11“Take care lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today,12lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, (5Mo 6,11; 5Mo 28,47; 5Mo 32,15; Spr 30,9; Hos 13,6)13and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied,14then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, (Ps 78,11; Ps 106,21; 1Kor 4,7)15who led you through the great and terrifying wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water, who brought you water out of the flinty rock, (2Mo 17,6; 4Mo 20,11; 4Mo 21,6; 5Mo 1,19; 5Mo 32,13; Ps 78,15; Ps 114,8; Jes 30,6; Hos 13,5)16who fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end. (2Mo 16,15; 5Mo 8,3; Jer 24,5; Hebr 12,11)17Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ (5Mo 9,4)18You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. (5Mo 7,8; 5Mo 7,12; Spr 10,22; Hos 2,8)19And if you forget the Lord your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish. (5Mo 4,26; 5Mo 30,18)20Like the nations that the Lord makes to perish before you, so shall you perish, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. (Dan 9,11)
