1Es wird aber geschehen, wenn alle diese Worte über dich kommen werden, der Segen und der Fluch, die ich dir vorgelegt habe, und du es dir zu Herzen nimmst unter all den Heidenvölkern, unter die dich der HERR, dein Gott, verstoßen hat, (5Mo 11,26; 5Mo 28,1; 5Mo 28,15; 5Mo 30,19)2und wenn du umkehrst zu dem HERRN, deinem Gott, und seiner Stimme gehorchst in allem, was ich dir heute gebiete, du und deine Kinder, von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, (1Kön 8,48; Neh 1,9; Jes 55,7; Hes 18,28; Hos 3,5)3so wird der HERR, dein Gott, dein Geschick wenden und sich über dich erbarmen und wird dich wieder sammeln aus allen Völkern, wohin dich der HERR, dein Gott, zerstreut hat. Die Wahl zwischen Leben und Tod, Segen und Fluch
15Siehe, ich habe dir heute das Leben und das Gute vorgelegt, den Tod und das Böse. (5Mo 11,26; 5Mo 30,1; 5Mo 30,9; Spr 8,32)16Was ich dir heute gebiete, ist, dass du den HERRN, deinen Gott, liebst und in seinen Wegen wandelst und seine Gebote, seine Satzungen und seine Rechtsbestimmungen hältst, damit du lebst und dich mehrst; und der HERR, dein Gott, wird dich segnen in dem Land, in das du ziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. (5Mo 5,33; 5Mo 6,5; Joh 14,21)17Wenn sich aber dein Herz abwendet und du nicht gehorchst, sondern dich verführen lässt, andere Götter anzubeten und ihnen zu dienen, (5Mo 11,16)18so verkünde ich euch heute, dass ihr gewiss umkommen und nicht lange leben werdet in dem Land, in das du über den Jordan ziehst, damit du dorthin kommst [und] es in Besitz nimmst. Repentance and Forgiveness
1“And when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you, (3Mo 26,40; 5Mo 4,29; 5Mo 11,26; 1Kön 8,47)2and return to the Lord your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, (Neh 1,9; Jes 55,7; Kla 3,40; Joe 2,12)3then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you. (Ps 126,1; Ps 126,4; Jer 32,37; Hes 34,13; Hes 36,24)4If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there he will take you. The Choice of Life and Death
11“For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off. (Jes 45,19; Jes 48,16)12It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ (Röm 10,6)13Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’14But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.15“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. (5Mo 11,26; 5Mo 32,47)16If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God[1] that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules,[2] then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
