1Wenn man einen Erschlagenen findet in dem Land, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gibt, um es in Besitz zu nehmen, und er auf dem Feld liegt und man nicht weiß, wer ihn erschlagen hat, (Pred 12,14; Röm 2,16; 1Kor 4,5; 1Kor 13,9; 1Tim 5,24)2so sollen deine Ältesten und deine Richter hinausgehen und [die Entfernungen] messen von dem Erschlagenen bis zu den Städten, die ringsum liegen.3Und die Ältesten der Stadt, die am nächsten bei dem Erschlagenen liegt, sollen eine junge Kuh nehmen, mit der noch nicht gearbeitet wurde [und] die noch an keinem Joch gezogen hat. (4Mo 19,2)4Und die Ältesten jener Stadt sollen die junge Kuh hinabführen in das Tal eines immerfließenden Baches, wo weder gearbeitet noch gesät wird, und sollen dort der jungen Kuh bei dem Bach das Genick brechen. (4Mo 19,1)5Dann sollen die Priester herzutreten, die Söhne Levis, denn sie hat der HERR, dein Gott, erwählt, dass sie ihm dienen und in dem Namen des HERRN segnen; und nach ihrem Ausspruch soll jede Streitigkeit und jede Körperverletzung geschlichtet werden. (5Mo 10,8; 5Mo 17,8)6Und alle Ältesten dieser Stadt, die dem Erschlagenen am nächsten liegt, sollen ihre Hände waschen über der jungen Kuh, der bei dem Bach das Genick gebrochen worden ist, (Ps 26,6; Mt 27,24)7und sie sollen das Wort ergreifen und sprechen: »Unsere Hände haben dieses Blut nicht vergossen, auch haben es unsere Augen nicht gesehen. (Ps 7,4)8Vergib deinem Volk Israel, das du, o HERR, erlöst hast, und mache dein Volk Israel nicht verantwortlich für das unschuldige Blut, das in seiner Mitte vergossen wurde!« So wird ihnen die Blutschuld vergeben werden. (2Sam 3,28; Jon 1,14)9Und du sollst das unschuldige Blut aus deiner Mitte wegschaffen;[1] denn du sollst das tun, was recht ist in den Augen des HERRN. (5Mo 12,25; 5Mo 12,28; 5Mo 19,13)
Ehen mit kriegsgefangenen Frauen
10Wenn du gegen deine Feinde in den Krieg ziehst und der HERR, dein Gott, sie in deine Hand gibt, sodass du von ihnen Gefangene heimführst, (5Mo 20,12)11und du unter den Gefangenen eine schöne Frau siehst und dich in sie verliebst und sie zur Frau nimmst, (4Mo 31,18)12so führe sie in dein Haus und lass sie ihre Haare abschneiden und sich die Nägel schneiden (1Kor 11,6)13und die Kleider ihrer Gefangenschaft ablegen, und lass sie in deinem Haus wohnen und ihren Vater und ihre Mutter einen Monat lang beweinen; danach kannst du zu ihr eingehen und sie zur Ehe nehmen, dass sie deine Frau sei. (Ps 45,11)14Wenn du aber keinen Gefallen [mehr] an ihr hast, so sollst du sie freilassen, nach ihrem Belieben, aber sie keineswegs um Geld verkaufen, sie auch nicht als Sklavin behandeln, weil du sie geschwächt hast. (2Mo 21,7; 5Mo 22,28)
Das Recht des Erstgeborenen
15Wenn jemand zwei Frauen hat, eine, die er liebt, und eine, die er verschmäht, und sie ihm Söhne gebären, beide, die Geliebte und die Verschmähte, und wenn der Erstgeborene von der Verschmähten ist (1Mo 29,30)16und die Zeit kommt, dass er seinen Söhnen seinen Besitz als Erbe austeilt, so kann er nicht dem Sohn der Geliebten vor dem erstgeborenen Sohn der Verschmähten das Erstgeburtsrecht verleihen; (1Chr 26,10; 2Chr 11,18; 2Chr 21,2)17sondern er soll den Erstgeborenen, nämlich den Sohn der Verschmähten, anerkennen, indem er ihm von allem, was vorhanden ist, zwei Teile gibt; denn dieser ist der Erstling seiner Kraft, und das Recht der Erstgeburt gehört ihm. (1Mo 25,31; 1Mo 49,3; 1Chr 5,1)
Widerspenstige Kinder
18Wenn jemand einen widerspenstigen und störrischen Sohn hat, der der Stimme seines Vaters und seiner Mutter nicht gehorcht und ihnen auch nicht folgen will, wenn sie ihn züchtigen, (2Mo 20,12; 3Mo 19,3; 5Mo 27,16; Spr 13,24; Spr 19,18; Spr 29,17; Spr 30,17)19so sollen sein Vater und seine Mutter ihn ergreifen und zu den Ältesten seiner Stadt führen und zu dem Tor jenes Ortes, (5Mo 25,7)20und sie sollen zu den Ältesten seiner Stadt sagen: Dieser unser Sohn ist störrisch und widerspenstig und gehorcht unserer Stimme nicht; er ist ein Schlemmer und ein Säufer! (Spr 23,19; Spr 30,17)21Dann sollen ihn alle Leute seiner Stadt steinigen, damit er stirbt. So sollst du das Böse aus deiner Mitte ausrotten, dass ganz Israel es hört und sich fürchtet. (2Mo 21,17; 5Mo 13,6; 5Mo 13,11; 5Mo 22,21; 5Mo 24,7; Spr 29,1; Gal 3,13)
Wer am Holz hängt, ist verflucht
22Wenn auf einem Mann eine Sünde ist, die ein Todesurteil nach sich zieht, und er wird getötet und du hängst ihn an ein Holz, (4Mo 25,4; 2Sam 4,12; 2Sam 21,9)23so soll sein Leichnam nicht über Nacht an dem Holz bleiben, sondern du sollst ihn unbedingt an jenem Tag begraben. Denn von Gott verflucht ist derjenige, der [ans Holz] gehängt wurde, und du sollst dein Land nicht verunreinigen, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir zum Erbe gibt. (4Mo 35,34; Jos 8,29; Jos 10,26; 2Sam 21,6; Joh 19,31; Gal 3,13)
1“If in the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess someone is found slain, lying in the open country, and it is not known who killed him,2then your elders and your judges shall come out, and they shall measure the distance to the surrounding cities.3And the elders of the city that is nearest to the slain man shall take a heifer that has never been worked and that has not pulled in a yoke. (4Mo 19,2)4And the elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.5Then the priests, the sons of Levi, shall come forward, for the Lord your God has chosen them to minister to him and to bless in the name of the Lord, and by their word every dispute and every assault shall be settled. (5Mo 10,8; 5Mo 17,8; 5Mo 19,17)6And all the elders of that city nearest to the slain man shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley, (Ps 26,6; Ps 73,13; Mt 27,24)7and they shall testify, ‘Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see it shed.8Accept atonement, O Lord, for your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, and do not set the guilt of innocent blood in the midst of your people Israel, so that their blood guilt be atoned for.’ (Jon 1,14)9So you shall purge the guilt of innocent blood from your midst, when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord. (5Mo 19,13)
Marrying Female Captives
10“When you go out to war against your enemies, and the Lord your God gives them into your hand and you take them captive,11and you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you desire to take her to be your wife,12and you bring her home to your house, she shall shave her head and pare her nails.13And she shall take off the clothes in which she was captured and shall remain in your house and lament her father and her mother a full month. After that you may go in to her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife. (Ps 45,10)14But if you no longer delight in her, you shall let her go where she wants. But you shall not sell her for money, nor shall you treat her as a slave, since you have humiliated her. (5Mo 24,7; Jer 34,16)
Inheritance Rights of the Firstborn
15“If a man has two wives, the one loved and the other unloved, and both the loved and the unloved have borne him children, and if the firstborn son belongs to the unloved,[1] (1Mo 29,30; 1Mo 29,33; 1Sam 1,4)16then on the day when he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the loved as the firstborn in preference to the son of the unloved, who is the firstborn, (1Chr 5,1; 1Chr 26,10; 2Chr 11,19; 2Chr 11,22)17but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the unloved, by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the firstfruits of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his. (1Mo 25,31; 1Mo 25,33; 1Mo 27,36; 1Mo 49,3)
A Rebellious Son
18“If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them,19then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives,20and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’21Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear. (5Mo 13,5; 5Mo 13,10; 5Mo 13,11; 5Mo 17,13; 5Mo 19,20; Jos 7,25)
A Man Hanged on a Tree Is Cursed
22“And if a man has committed a crime punishable by death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree,23his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for a hanged man is cursed by God. You shall not defile your land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance. (4Mo 35,34; Jos 8,29; Jos 10,26; Joh 19,31; Gal 3,13)
