König Hiskia von Juda. Seine Gottesfurcht und die Wiederherstellung des Tempels

1 Hiskia war 25 Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte 29 Jahre lang in Jerusalem. Und der Name seiner Mutter war Abija, eine Tochter Sacharjas. (2Kön 18,1; 1Chr 3,13; 2Chr 26,5; Jes 8,2)

6 Denn unsere Väter haben sich versündigt und getan, was böse ist in den Augen des HERRN, unseres Gottes, und haben ihn verlassen; denn sie haben ihr Angesicht von der Wohnung des HERRN abgewandt und ihr den Rücken gekehrt. (Neh 9,16; Neh 9,34; Jer 2,13; Hes 8,16; Dan 9,16)

7 Auch haben sie die Türen der Vorhalle zugeschlossen und die Lampen ausgelöscht und dem Gott Israels kein Räucherwerk angezündet und kein Brandopfer dargebracht im Heiligtum. (2Mo 29,38; 2Mo 30,7; 3Mo 24,2; Joh 3,19)

8 Daher ist der Zorn des HERRN über Juda und Jerusalem gekommen, und er hat sie der Misshandlung und Verwüstung preisgegeben, dass man sie auszischt, wie ihr mit euren Augen seht. (1Kön 9,8; 2Chr 24,18; 2Chr 34,25; Jer 18,16; Jer 25,17)

17 Und zwar begannen sie mit der Heiligung am ersten Tag des ersten Monats; und am achten Tag desselben Monats kamen sie in die Vorhalle des HERRN, und sie heiligten das Haus des HERRN acht Tage lang; und am sechzehnten Tag des ersten Monats wurden sie fertig. Die Wiederherstellung des Priesterdienstes

20 Da machte sich der König Hiskia früh auf und versammelte die Obersten der Stadt und ging hinauf zum Haus des HERRN. (1Mo 22,3; Ps 5,4; Ps 57,9) 21 Und sie brachten sieben Jungstiere, sieben Widder, sieben Lämmer und sieben Ziegenböcke herbei zum Sündopfer für das Königreich, für das Heiligtum und für Juda. Und er befahl den Söhnen Aarons, den Priestern, [sie] auf dem Altar des HERRN zu opfern. (3Mo 4,3; 3Mo 4,13; 3Mo 4,22; 3Mo 4,31)

26 Und die Leviten stellten sich auf mit den Musikinstrumenten Davids und die Priester mit den Trompeten. (1Chr 23,5; Jes 38,20; Am 6,5) 27 Und Hiskia befahl, das Brandopfer auf dem Altar zu opfern. Und als das Brandopfer begann, fing auch der Gesang für den HERRN an und das Spiel der Trompeten, zusammen mit den Musikinstrumenten Davids, des Königs von Israel. 28 Und die ganze Gemeinde betete an; und die Sänger sangen, und die Trompeter schmetterten so lange, bis das Brandopfer vollendet war. (Ps 68,25; Offb 5,8) 29 Als nun das Brandopfer vollendet war, kniete der König nieder samt allen, die sich bei ihm befanden, und sie beteten an. 31 Und Hiskia ergriff das Wort und sprach: Nun habt ihr euch dem HERRN geweiht. Tretet herzu und bringt die Schlachtopfer und Dankopfer zum Haus des HERRN! Da brachte die Gemeinde Schlachtopfer und Dankopfer dar, und alle, die willigen Herzens waren, brachten Brandopfer dar. (3Mo 7,11; Hebr 10,22) 32 Und die Zahl der Brandopfer, welche die Gemeinde herzubrachte, betrug 70 Rinder, 100 Widder und 200 Lämmer; diese alle als Brandopfer für den HERRN. 33 Zudem heiligten sie 600 Rinder und 3 000 Schafe. 34 Nur waren es zu wenig Priester, sodass sie nicht allen Brandopfern die Haut abziehen konnten; darum halfen ihnen ihre Brüder, die Leviten, bis das Werk vollendet war und bis sich die Priester geheiligt hatten; denn die Leviten waren ernstlicher darauf bedacht, sich zu heiligen als die Priester. (2Chr 30,3; 2Chr 35,11) 35 Es waren aber auch Brandopfer in Menge darzubringen, samt dem Fett der Friedensopfer und den Trankopfern zu den Brandopfern. So wurde der Dienst im Haus des HERRN wiederhergestellt. (3Mo 3,16; 4Mo 15,5) 36 Und Hiskia freute sich samt dem ganzen Volk über das, was Gott dem Volk zubereitet hatte; denn die Sache war sehr rasch vor sich gegangen. Hezekiah Reigns in Judah

1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah^[1] the daughter of Zechariah. (2Kön 18,1; 2Chr 26,5) 2 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.

Hezekiah Cleanses the Temple

3 In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lord and repaired them. (2Chr 28,24; 2Chr 29,7) 4 He brought in the priests and the Levites and assembled them in the square on the east 5 and said to them, “Hear me, Levites! Hezekiah Restores Temple Worship

20 Then Hezekiah the king rose early and gathered the officials of the city and went up to the house of the Lord. 21 And they brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats for a sin offering for the kingdom and for the sanctuary and for Judah. And he commanded the priests, the sons of Aaron, to offer them on the altar of the Lord. (3Mo 4,14) 22 So they slaughtered the bulls, and the priests received the blood and threw it against the altar. And they slaughtered the rams, and their blood was thrown against the altar. 23 Then the goats for the sin offering were brought to the king and the assembly, and they laid their hands on them, (3Mo 4,15) 24 and the priests slaughtered them and made a sin offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel. For the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel. (3Mo 4,26) 25 And he stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, according to the commandment of David and of Gad the king’s seer and of Nathan the prophet, for the commandment was from the Lord through his prophets. 26 The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. (1Chr 15,24; 1Chr 23,5; Am 6,5) 27 Then Hezekiah commanded that the burnt offering be offered on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song to the Lord began also, and the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel. (2Chr 23,18) 28 The whole assembly worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded. All this continued until the burnt offering was finished. 29 When the offering was finished, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped. (2Chr 20,18) 30 And Hezekiah the king and the officials commanded the Levites to sing praises to the Lord with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed down and worshiped. 31 Then Hezekiah said, “You have now consecrated yourselves to^[3] the Lord. Come near; bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the Lord.” And the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all who were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings. 32 The number of the burnt offerings that the assembly brought was 70 bulls, 100 rams, and 200 lambs; all these were for a burnt offering to the Lord. 33 And the consecrated offerings were 600 bulls and 3,000 sheep. 34 But the priests were too few and could not flay all the burnt offerings, so until other priests had consecrated themselves, their brothers the Levites helped them, until the work was finished—for the Levites were more upright in heart than the priests in consecrating themselves. (2Chr 30,3; 2Chr 35,11) 35 Besides the great number of burnt offerings, there was the fat of the peace offerings, and there were the drink offerings for the burnt offerings.
