(2Sam 5,16; 1Chr 3,8)8Als aber die Philister hörten, dass man David zum König über ganz Israel gesalbt hatte, da zogen alle Philister hinauf, um David herauszufordern. Als David dies hörte, zog er ihnen entgegen. (2Sam 5,3; 2Sam 5,17; 1Chr 11,3)9Die Philister aber waren gekommen und breiteten sich aus im Tal der Rephaiter. (2Sam 5,18; 1Chr 11,15; Jes 17,5)10Da befragte David Gott und sprach: Soll ich gegen die Philister hinaufziehen? Und willst du sie in meine Hand geben? Und der HERR sprach zu ihm: Zieh hinauf, denn ich werde sie in deine Hand geben! (Ri 4,6; 1Sam 30,8; 1Kön 22,6; 1Kön 22,15; 1Chr 13,3; 1Chr 14,14; Spr 3,6)11Und als sie nach Baal-Perazim hinaufzogen, schlug sie David dort. Und David sprach: Gott hat durch meine Hand meine Feinde zerrissen, wie das Wasser [einen Damm] zerreißt! Daher nannte man jenen Ort Baal-Perazim. (Hi 30,14; Ps 18,16; Ps 44,4; Jes 28,21)12Und sie ließen ihre Götter dort zurück; und David befahl, sie mit Feuer zu verbrennen. (2Mo 12,12; 5Mo 7,5; 5Mo 7,25; 1Sam 5,1; 2Kön 19,17)13Aber die Philister breiteten sich nochmals im Tal aus. (1Kön 20,22; 1Chr 14,9)14Und David befragte Gott wiederum. Und Gott sprach zu ihm: Du sollst nicht hinter ihnen her hinaufziehen, sondern wende dich von ihnen ab, dass du von den Balsambäumen her an sie herankommst! (Jos 8,2; 1Chr 14,10)15Wenn du dann in den Wipfeln der Balsambäume das Geräusch eines Einherschreitens hören wirst, so ziehe aus zum Kampf; denn Gott ist dort vor dir ausgezogen, um das Heer der Philister zu schlagen! (2Mo 33,16; 3Mo 26,36; 5Mo 20,4; 2Sam 5,24; 2Kön 7,6)16Und David machte es, wie Gott ihm geboten hatte. Und sie schlugen das Heer der Philister von Gibeon an bis nach Geser. (1Mo 6,22; 1Mo 7,5; 2Mo 25,40; 2Mo 40,16; 2Mo 40,33; 2Sam 5,25; Ps 60,14; Joh 2,5; Joh 13,17; Joh 15,14)17Und Davids Ruhm ging aus in alle Lande, und der HERR ließ Furcht vor ihm über alle Heidenvölker kommen. Philistines Defeated
8When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. But David heard of it and went out against them.9Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the Valley of Rephaim. (1Chr 11,15; 1Chr 14,13)10And David inquired of God, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to him, “Go up, and I will give them into your hand.”11And he went up to Baal-perazim, and David struck them down there. And David said, “God has broken through[1] my enemies by my hand, like a bursting flood.” Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim.12And they left their gods there, and David gave command, and they were burned.13And the Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley. (1Chr 14,9)14And when David again inquired of God, God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; go around and come against them opposite the balsam trees. (1Chr 14,16)15And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”16And David did as God commanded him, and they struck down the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gezer.17And the fame of David went out into all lands, and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.
