Psalm 46

English Standard Version

od Crossway
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present[1] help in trouble.[2] (Pwt 4,7; Ps 9,9; Ps 14,6; Ps 145,18)2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, (Ps 18,7; Ez 27,26)3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah (Ps 93,3; Ps 93,4; Jer 5,22)4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. (Ps 36,8; Ps 43,3; Ps 48,1; Ps 65,9; Ps 84,1; Ps 87,3; Iz 8,6; Iz 33,21; Iz 60,14; Ap 22,1; Ap 22,2)5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. (Kpł 26,12; Pwt 23,14; Iz 12,6; Ez 43,7; Ez 43,9; Oz 11,9; Jl 2,27; So 3,15; Za 2,5; Za 2,10; Za 2,11; Za 8,3)6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. Selah (Lb 14,9; 2 Krn 13,12; 2 Krn 20,17; Ps 46,11)8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth. (Ps 66,5)9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. (1 Sm 2,4; Ps 76,3; Iz 2,4; Ez 39,9; Mi 4,3)10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Wj 14,13; Iz 2,11; Iz 2,17; Iz 33,10)11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah (Ps 46,7)
