To the choirmaster. Of David, the servant of the Lord.
1Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart;[1] there is no fear of God before his eyes. (Rz 3,18)2For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated. (Pwt 29,19; Ps 10,3; Ps 49,18)3The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good. (Ps 12,2; Jer 4,22)4He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil. (Ps 10,7; Ps 97,10; Przyp 4,16; Iz 65,2; Mi 2,1)5Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O LORD. (Neh 9,6; Ps 71,19; Ps 92,5; Ps 104,14; Ps 104,15; Ps 145,9; Ps 145,15; Ps 145,16; Rz 11,33)7How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. (Rt 2,12; Ps 31,19)8They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. (Ps 16,11; Ps 23,5; Ps 27,4; Ps 46,4; Ps 65,4; Iz 25,6; Jer 31,12; Ap 22,1)9For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. (Jer 2,13; Jan 1,9; Jan 4,10; Jan 4,14; Jan 5,26; Dz 26,18; 1 P 2,9)10Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart! (Ps 7,10; Ps 79,6; Jer 22,16; Ga 4,9)11Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.12There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise. (Ps 1,5; Ps 94,4)
