1I usłyszałem, jak donośny głos ze świątyni zawołał do siedmiu aniołów: „Idźcie i wylejcie na ziemię siedem pucharów Bożego gniewu!”.2Wtedy ruszył pierwszy anioł i wylał swój puchar na ziemię. I natychmiast wszystkich ludzi, noszących znak bestii i oddających cześć jej posągowi, dotknęły złośliwe i bolesne wrzody.3Drugi anioł wylał swój puchar na morze, a jego woda stała się jak krew umarłego. Wszystkie stworzenia, które w niej żyły, wyginęły.4Trzeci anioł wylał swój puchar na rzeki oraz źródła wód, a ich woda zamieniła się w krew.5Wtedy usłyszałem, jak anioł, który miał władzę na wodą, obwieścił: „Święty i sprawiedliwy Boże, Ty jesteś i zawsze byłeś. Twój wyrok jest słuszny.6Tym, którzy przelali krew, mordując świętych i proroków, dałeś teraz do picia właśnie krew —zasłużyli na to”.7I usłyszałem głos dobiegający od ołtarza: „Wszechmocny Boże, Panie, Twój wyrok jest sprawiedliwy i słuszny”.8Czwarty anioł wylał swój puchar na słońce—i poraziło ono ludzi swoim żarem.9Upał był tak wielki, że ludzie zaczęli przeklinać Boga, który ma władzę nad klęskami. Nie opamiętali się jednak i nie oddali Mu czci.10Piąty anioł wylał swój puchar na tron bestii. Wtedy jej królestwo pogrążyło się w ciemności, a ludzie z bólu gryźli własne języki.11Przeklinali Boga, który jest w niebie, za swój ból i wrzody pokrywające ich ciało, ale nadal nie opamiętali się i nie porzucili zła.12Szósty anioł wylał puchar na wielką rzekę Eufrat, a jej wody zupełnie wyschły. Koryto rzeki utworzyło zaś drogę dla władców ze Wschodu.13Wtedy zobaczyłem, że z paszczy bestii, z paszczy smoka i z ust fałszywego proroka wyszły trzy złe duchy, podobne do ropuch.14Duchy te to demony potrafiące czynić cuda. Nakłoniły one władców całego świata, aby w wielkim dniu Bożego sądu przystąpili do walki z wszechmocnym Bogiem.15Chrystus ostrzega: „Zjawię się nieoczekiwanie jak złodziej. Szczęśliwy ten, kto będzie wtedy gotowy i będzie miał przygotowane ubranie, aby nie musiał się wstydzić swojej nagości”.16Duchy zgromadziły władców w miejscu zwanym po hebrajsku Armagedon.17Wtedy siódmy anioł wylał swój puchar w powietrze, a z tronu świątyni w niebie rozległ się potężny głos: „Wykonało się!”.18Wówczas uderzyły gromy i pojawiły się błyskawice, po czym nastąpiło potężne trzęsienie ziemi, jakiego nie było od początku świata.19Ogromne miasto Babilon rozpadło się na trzy części, a wszystkie inne miasta świata również legły w gruzach. W ten sposób Bóg okazał wielkiemu Babilonowi swój gniew.20Wyspy zniknęły, góry rozpadły się,21a z nieba zaczął padać na ludzi ogromny grad, o wadze ponad czterdziestu kilogramów. Ludzie przeklinali Boga z powodu klęski gradu, miała ona bowiem straszne skutki.
1Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.” (Ps 79,6; Jer 10,25; So 3,8; Ap 15,1; Ap 15,7)2So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. (Wj 9,9; Ap 13,16; Ap 16,11)3The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse, and every living thing died that was in the sea. (Ap 8,8; Ap 8,9)4The third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood. (Wj 7,17; Ap 8,10)5And I heard the angel in charge of the waters[1] say, “Just are you, O Holy One, who is and who was, for you brought these judgments. (Jer 12,1; Jan 17,25; Ap 1,4; Ap 1,8; Ap 4,8; Ap 11,17; Ap 15,4)6For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. It is what they deserve!” (Iz 49,26; Łk 11,49; Ap 11,18; Ap 13,15; Ap 18,24)7And I heard the altar saying, “Yes, Lord God the Almighty, true and just are your judgments!” (Ps 119,137; Ap 6,9; Ap 15,3; Ap 19,2)8The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. (Ap 9,17; Ap 14,18)9They were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed[2] the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory. (Dn 5,22; Dn 5,23; Ap 2,21; Ap 11,13; Ap 16,11; Ap 16,21)10The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish (Wj 10,21; Ap 9,2; Ap 13,2)11and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds. (Ap 2,21; Ap 11,13; Ap 16,2)12The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east. (Iz 11,15; Iz 41,2; Iz 41,25; Iz 44,27; Iz 46,11; Jer 50,38; Jer 51,32; Jer 51,36; Ap 7,2; Ap 9,14)13And I saw, coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. (Wj 8,6; Ap 12,3; Ap 12,9; Ap 13,1; Ap 13,11; Ap 13,14; Ap 18,2; Ap 19,20; Ap 20,10)14For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. (1 Krl 22,20; 1 Tm 4,1; Ap 6,17; Ap 13,13; Ap 17,14; Ap 19,19; Ap 20,8)15(“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”) (Mt 24,42; Ap 3,2; Ap 3,3; Ap 3,18)16And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon. (Sdz 5,19; Za 12,11; Ap 19,19)
The Seventh Bowl
17The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” (Ef 2,2; Ap 10,6)18And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings,[3] peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake. (Dn 12,1; Jl 2,2; Mt 24,21; Ap 4,5; Ap 6,12; Ap 8,5; Ap 11,13; Ap 11,19)19The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath. (Ps 74,18; Ap 11,8; Ap 11,13; Ap 14,8; Ap 14,10; Ap 18,5)20And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found. (Ap 6,14)21And great hailstones, about one hundred pounds[4] each, fell from heaven on people; and they cursed God for the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe. (Wj 9,23; Ap 11,19; Ap 16,9; Ap 16,11)
