1خداوند به من فرمود كه لوحی بزرگ بگيرم و با خط درشت روی آن بنويسم: «مهير شلال حاش بز»[1]2من از اوريای كاهن و زكريا (پسر يبركيا) كه مردانی امين هستند خواستم هنگام نوشتن حاضر باشند و شهادت دهند كه من آن را نوشتهام.3پس از چندی، همسرم حامله شد و هنگامی كه پسرمان به دنیا آمد خداوند فرمود: «نام او را مهير شلال حاش بز بگذار.4پيش از آنكه اين پسر بتواند ”بابا“ و ”ماما“ بگويد، پادشاه آشور به دمشق و سامره يورش خواهد برد و اموال آنها را غارت خواهد كرد.»5پس از آن، باز خداوند به من فرمود:6«حال كه مردم يهودا آبهای ملايم نهر شيلوه[2] را خوار میشمارند و دلشان با رصين پادشاه و فقح پادشاه خوش است،7-8من پادشاه آشور را با تمام سپاه نيرومندش به اينجا خواهم آورد. آنها مانند رود فرات كه طغيان میكند و كنارههايش را پر از آب میسازد، بر يهودا هجوم خواهند آورد و سراسر خاک آن را خواهند پوشاند.»[3]
خدايا به داد ما برس!
9ای سوريه و اسرائيل، هر كاری از دستتان برمیآيد بكنيد، ولی بدانيد كه موفق نخواهيد شد و شكست خواهيد خورد. ای همهٔ دشمنان گوش دهيد: برای جنگ آماده شويد، ولی بدانيد كه پيروز نخواهيد شد.10با هم مشورت كنيد و نقشهٔ حمله را بكشيد، اما بدانيد كه نقشهٔ شما عملی نخواهد شد، زيرا خدا با ما است!11خداوند به تأكيد به من امر كرد كه راه مردم يهودا را در پيش نگيرم، و فرمود:12«اين قوم از سوريه و اسرائيل میترسند و شما را خائن میدانند، اما شما از ايشان بيم نداشته باشيد.13بدانيد كه من خداوند قادر متعال، مقدس هستم و تنها از من بايد بترسيد.14من پناهگاه هستم، اما نه برای يهودا و اسرائيل. برای آنان من سنگی لغزش دهنده و دامی پنهان خواهم بود.15بسياری از آنان لغزيده، خواهند افتاد و خرد خواهند شد و بسياری ديگر در دام افتاده، گرفتار خواهند گرديد.»16ای شاگردان من، شما بايد كلام و دستوراتی را كه خدا به من داده است مهر و موم كرده، حفظ كنيد.17من منتظرم تا خداوند ما را ياری كند، هر چند اكنون خود را از قوم خويش پنهان كرده است. تنها اميد من اوست.18من و فرزندانی كه خداوند به من داده است، از طرف خداوند قادر متعال كه در اورشليم ساكن است برای اسرائيل علامت و نشانه هستيم.19وقتی مردم به شما میگويند كه با فالگيران و جادوگرانی كه زير لب ورد میخوانند مشورت كنيد، شما در جواب بگوييد: «آيا از مردگان دربارهٔ زندگان مشورت بخواهيم؟ چرا از خدای خود مشورت نخواهيم؟»20مردم موافق كلام و دستورات خدا سخن نمیگويند و كلامشان عاری از نور حقيقت است.21ايشان در تنگی و گرسنگی قرار خواهند گرفت و آواره خواهند شد. از شدت گرسنگی و پريشانی پادشاه و خدای خود را نفرين خواهند كرد. به آسمان خواهند نگريست22و به زمين نگاه خواهند كرد، ولی چيزی جز تنگی و پريشانی و تاريكی نخواهند ديد، و به سوی تاريكی محض رانده خواهند شد.
1Then the Lord said to me, “Take a large tablet and write on it in common characters,[1] ‘Belonging to Maher-shalal-hash-baz.’[2] (اشعيا 30:8)2And I will get reliable witnesses, Uriah the priest and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah, to attest for me.” (2پادشاهان 16:10; 2پادشاهان 16:15; اشعيا 43:10)3And I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. Then the Lord said to me, “Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz; (هوشع 1:4)4for before the boy knows how to cry ‘My father’ or ‘My mother,’ the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria.” (اشعيا 7:8; اشعيا 7:16)5The Lord spoke to me again:6“Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that flow gently, and rejoice over Rezin and the son of Remaliah, (نحميا 3:15; اشعيا 7:1; اشعيا 7:4; نوشته ء يوحنا 9:7; نوشته ء يوحنا 9:11)7therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up against them the waters of the River,[3] mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. And it will rise over all its channels and go over all its banks, (اشعيا 7:20; اشعيا 17:12; اِرميا 46:8)8and it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass on, reaching even to the neck, and its outspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.” (اشعيا 7:14; اشعيا 30:28; اشعيا 36:1)9Be broken,[4] you peoples, and be shattered;[5] give ear, all you far countries; strap on your armor and be shattered; strap on your armor and be shattered. (دانيال 2:34)10Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.[6] (اشعيا 7:7; اشعيا 8:8; روم 8:31)
Fear God, Wait for the Lord
11For the Lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying: (حزقيال نبی 2:8)12“Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. (اشعيا 7:2; 1پطرس 3:14)13But the Lord of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. (اعداد 20:12)14And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. (اشعيا 28:16; حزقيال نبی 11:16; روم 9:33; 1پطرس 2:8)15And many shall stumble on it. They shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken.” (اشعيا 28:13; متیٰ 21:44; نوشته‌ء لوقا 20:18)16Bind up the testimony; seal the teaching[7] among my disciples. (اشعيا 8:1; دانيال 12:4)17I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him. (تثنيه 31:17; مزامير 27:14; مزامير 33:20; اشعيا 1:15; اشعيا 54:8; حبقوق 2:3)18Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are signs and portents in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion. (اشعيا 7:3; يهودى نژاد 2:13)19And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living? (لاويان 19:31; 1سموئيل 28:11; 2پادشاهان 21:6; 2پادشاهان 23:24; 2تواريخ 33:6; مزامير 106:28; اشعيا 19:3)20To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn. (اشعيا 60:1; نوشته‌ء لوقا 16:29)21They will pass through the land,[8] greatly distressed and hungry. And when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will speak contemptuously against[9] their king and their God, and turn their faces upward.22And they will look to the earth, but behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish. And they will be thrust into thick darkness. (اشعيا 5:30; ناحوم 1:8)
