Não feches os ouvidos nem fiques impassível ao nosso apelo.2Os teus inimigos agitam-se; os que te aborrecem levantam a cabeça com arrogância.3Com astúcia conspiram contra o teu povo, contra os teus protegidos.4“Venham”, dizem, “vamos riscar Israel do mapa, de forma a que mais ninguém se lembre da sua existência!”5Esta foi a decisão unânime que tomaram e assim todos se aliaram contra ti.6Os de Edom e os ismaelitas; os de Moabe e os hagarenos.7Os povos de Gebal, Amon, Amaleque e da Filisteia, e ainda os habitantes de Tiro.8Também a Assíria fez aliança com eles; aliou-se com os descendentes de Lot. (Pausa)9Faz com eles, Senhor, o que fizeste com os midianitas ou com Sísera, e com Jabim junto ao ribeiro de Quisom.10Como fizeste com os teus inimigos em En-Dor, cujos corpos vieram a servir de estrume.11Faz aos grandes senhores deles o mesmo que a Orebe e a Zeebe; que todos os seus chefes morram como Zeba e Zalmuna.12Estes disseram: “Ficaremos com essas belas terras de Deus!”13Ó Deus, sopra-os como pó, como palha ao vento.14Como o fogo numa floresta, que tudo queima de montanha em montanha.15Da mesma forma, a tua tempestade os persiga, com vendavais e ciclones.16Sintam-se envergonhados pela sua conduta reprovável e reconheçam o poder e a força do teu nome, SENHOR.17Que qualquer empreendimento deles seja sempre um fracasso; sejam abatidos pela vergonha, sejam, enfim, derrotados!18Para que saibam que só tu tens o nome de SENHOR; tu que estás acima de tudo e de todos sobre a face da Terra!
