1Tem piedade de mim, ó Deus! Tem piedade, porque a minha alma em ti se refugia. Eu abrigo-me à sombra das tuas asas, até que passem as calamidades.2Clamarei ao Deus altíssimo, e que tudo faz por mim.3Ele enviará lá do alto o seu auxílio, para me salvar dos que querem devorar-me; (Pausa) Deus enviará o seu amor e a sua fidelidade.4Estou rodeado de leões ferozes, de gente violenta com dentes mais afiados que punhais, e cuja língua é uma faca cortante.5Ó Deus, engrandece-te acima dos céus! Que a tua glória brilhe sobre toda a Terra!6Puseram uma rede no meu caminho; a minha alma ficou abatida com temores. Abriram uma cova para que eu caísse, mas afinal foram eles que vieram a cair nela. (Pausa)7O meu coração está pronto, ó Deus; não é de surpreender que te cante salmos.8Desperta, minha alma! Que a harpa e a lira comecem a tocar! Eu mesmo, ao romper do dia, cantarei a Deus.9Louvar-te-ei diante dos povos, Senhor; no meio das nações cantar-te-ei salmos.10Pois a tua misericórdia chega aos céus e a tua fidelidade até às nuvens.11Sim, ó Deus, engrandece-te acima dos céus! Que a tua glória brilhe sobre toda a Terra!
