1Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, porque há gente que procura devorar-me; oprimem-me e lutam comigo o dia inteiro.2São muitos e espiam-me, de forma a terem tempo para me aniquilar.3Quando estiver com medo, porei a minha confiança em ti.4Confiarei nas promessas de Deus; se assim for, que poderão fazer-me?5Todos os dias torcem o que eu digo; só pensam no que hão de fazer para me prejudicar.6Juntam-se para estabelecerem os seus planos; escondem-se e espiam-me, aguardando a hora de me liquidar.7Conseguirão os seus objetivos perversos? Não os deixes, ó Deus, derruba-os!8Tens visto toda a minha agitação; recolheste as minhas lágrimas na tua taça, registaste-as no teu livro.9Quando clamo a ti por socorro, os meus inimigos retrocedem; sei isto, porque Deus está comigo.10Louvo as palavras de Deus e as suas promessas.11Confiarei em Deus e não terei medo; assim, que me poderá fazer o homem?12Certamente que farei o que te prometi, ó Deus, e te darei ações de graças.13Pois livraste a minha alma da morte e os meus pés de escorregarem, para que ande na terra dos vivos diante de Deus.
