1O pecado oculta-se profundamente no coração dos maus; para eles não há o temor de Deus.2Pelo contrário, pensam que podem viver bem e que não serão apanhados, se esconderem as suas obras más.3Tudo o que dizem é com maldade e engano; perderam o entendimento das coisas e nem são já capazes de fazer o bem.4Ficam acordados durante a noite, a fim de planearem os seus atos perversos, em vez de planearem a forma de fazerem o bem e de se afastarem do erro.5A tua misericórdia, SENHOR, chega até aos céus; a tua fidelidade vai mesmo até às nuvens.6A tua justiça é sólida como as grandes montanhas; as tuas decisões são tão cheias de sabedoria como profundos são os oceanos. Preocupas-te com a vida dos homens e dos animais.7Como é preciosa, ó Deus, a tua misericórdia! Por isso, a humanidade se abriga à sombra das tuas asas.8Tu os alimentas com as bênçãos da tua própria casa e os fazes beber dos teus rios de gozo divino.9Pois tu és a fonte da vida; a nossa luz vem da tua luz.10Derrama o teu amor sobre os que te conhecem, e a tua justiça sobre os que têm um coração íntegro.11Não deixes que gente orgulhosa me pise; não consintas que mãos perversas me façam fugir.12Esses obreiros da maldade já caíram; caíram e nunca mais se levantarão.
1To the choirmaster. Of David, the servant of the Lord. Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart;[1] there is no fear of God before his eyes.
