Salmo de David. Poema de instrução.

1 Guarda-me, ó Deus, porque em ti me refugio. 

2 Eu disse ao SENHOR: “Tu és o meu Senhor, não tenho outra riqueza além de ti.” 

3 Quero a companhia do povo santo nesta terra; eles são a verdadeira nobreza. 

4 Terão muito a sofrer, todos esses que prestam culto a outros deuses. Quanto a mim, nunca hei de oferecer desses sacrifícios, nem sequer pronunciarei o nome dos seus deuses. 

5 O SENHOR é a minha herança e a minha recompensa; tu guardas tudo o que me pertence. 

6 Faz com que a parte que me toca, nesta vida, seja deliciosa. Sim, ele é como uma herança maravilhosa! 

7 Louvarei o SENHOR que sempre me tem aconselhado; até durante a noite ele me ensina o que devo fazer. 

8 Tenho posto o SENHOR continuamente diante de mim; visto que ele está ao meu lado, não serei movido. 

9 Portanto, o meu coração está alegre e a minha alma está satisfeita; o meu corpo repousará em segurança. 

10 Pois não deixarás a minha alma no mundo dos mortos, nem permitirás que o teu santo conheça a corrupção. 

11 Dás-me a conhecer o caminho da vida e as abundantes alegrias que há na tua presença. A vida ao teu lado é um gozo permanente!

You Will Not Abandon My Soul

1 A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. (Sl 11:1; Sl 56:1; Sl 57:1; Sl 60:1) 

2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” (Sl 73:25) 

3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight. (Ex 19:6; Dt 7:6; 1 Pe 2:9) 

4 The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply; their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out or take their names on my lips. (Ex 23:13; Js 23:7) 

5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. (Nm 18:20; Dt 32:9; Sl 23:5; Sl 73:26; Sl 116:13; Sl 119:57; Sl 125:3; Sl 142:5; Jr 10:16; Jr 51:19; Lm 3:24) 

6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. (Mq 2:5) 

7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. (1 Sm 23:9; 2 Sm 5:18; Sl 7:9; Sl 17:3; Sl 42:8) 

8 I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. (Sl 10:6; Sl 15:5; Sl 109:31; Sl 110:5; Sl 119:30; Sl 121:5; At 2:25) 

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. (Gn 49:6; Sl 30:12; Sl 57:8; Sl 108:1) 

10 For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. (Jó 21:13; Sl 49:9; Sl 89:18; Sl 103:4; Mc 1:24; At 13:35) 

11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Sl 21:6; Sl 36:8; Mt 7:14)
