Psalm 125

English Standard Version

from Crossway

The Lord Surrounds His People

1 A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. (Ps 25:2; Ps 93:1; Ps 104:5; Ps 120:1; Pr 10:30) 2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore. (2Ki 6:17; Zec 2:5) 3 For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous stretch out their hands to do wrong. (Ge 3:22; Ex 22:8; Ps 16:5; Isa 14:5; Isa 30:30) 4 Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts! (Ps 7:10; Ps 119:68) 5 But those who turn aside to their crooked ways the Lord will lead away with evildoers! Peace be upon Israel! (Ps 40:4; Ps 92:7; Ps 92:9; Ps 94:4; Ps 128:6; Pr 2:15; Ga 6:16)
