1 Levanto os olhos para as altas montanhas: Donde me virá o socorro? 2 O socorro virá do SENHOR, que é o Criador dos céus e da Terra. 3 Ele não deixará que tropeces e caias; não corre o risco de dormitar, aquele que te protege! 4 Não deixará que o sono lhe pese nas pálpebras; não adormecerá nem por fadiga, aquele que protege Israel. 5 Aquele que te guarda é o próprio SENHOR! Está presente ao teu lado como a tua própria sombra. 6 Durante o dia o Sol não te fará mal, nem de noite a Lua. 7 O SENHOR protege-te de todo o mal; ele guarda a tua alma. 8 O SENHOR protege-te quando entras e quando sais; sabe tudo o que fazes, hoje e sempre!

1 A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? (Sl 48:1; Sl 87:1; Sl 120:1; Sl 123:1; Sl 133:3; Jr 3:23) 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (Sl 20:2; Sl 115:15; Sl 124:8) 3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. (1 Sm 2:9; Sl 41:2; Sl 66:9; Sl 97:10; Sl 127:1; Pv 3:23; Pv 3:26; Is 27:3) 4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. (Sl 16:8; Sl 91:1) 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. (2 Rs 4:19; Is 49:10; Jn 4:8; Ap 7:16) 7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. (Sl 121:3) 8 The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. (Nm 27:17; Dt 28:6; Dt 31:2; 1 Sm 29:6; 1 Rs 3:7; At 1:21)
