1 Disse o SENHOR ao meu Senhor[1]: “Senta-te à minha direita, até que ponha os teus inimigos debaixo dos teus pés.” 2 O SENHOR estabeleceu a base do teu poder em Sião, para que domines no meio dos teus inimigos. 3 Quando exerceres o teu domínio, o teu povo virá de coração, vestindo roupas santas. A tua força será renovada diariamente, como o orvalho da madrugada. 4 O SENHOR jurou e nunca há de alterar o seu intento: “Tu és sacerdote para sempre, à semelhança de Melquisedeque.” 5 O Senhor, ao teu lado, derrubará muitos reis, quando executar o rigor da sua justiça! 6 Castigará nações que ficarão cheias de mortos; ferirá cabeças que se levantam altivamente. 7 Ele se refrescará nas fontes do caminho; por isso, prosseguirá de fronte erguida.

1 A Psalm of David. The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” (Js 10:24; Sl 8:6; Sl 18:38; Mt 22:44; Mt 26:64; Mc 12:36; Lc 20:42; At 2:34; 1 Co 15:25; Ef 1:20; Ef 1:22; Cl 3:1; Hb 1:3; Hb 1:13; Hb 2:8; Hb 8:1; Hb 10:12; Hb 10:13; Hb 12:2; 1 Pe 3:22) 2 The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! (Sl 45:6; Sl 68:35; Sl 72:8; Jr 48:17; Ez 19:14; Dn 7:13) 3 Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power,[1] in holy garments;[2] from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours.[3] (Ex 35:29; Jz 5:2; 1 Cr 16:29; Ne 11:2; Is 13:3; Ap 19:14) 4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” (Gn 14:18; Nm 23:19; Sl 132:11; Zc 6:13; Jo 12:34; Hb 5:6; Hb 6:17; Hb 6:20; Hb 7:17; Hb 7:21; Hb 7:24; Hb 7:28) 5 The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. (Sl 2:5; Sl 2:12; Sl 16:8; Sl 68:14; Rm 2:5; Ap 6:17) 6 He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs[4] over the wide earth. (Sl 68:21; Is 2:4; Ez 39:17; Jl 3:12; Mq 4:3; Ap 19:17) 7 He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head. (Jz 7:5)
