Gebt Jahwe, ihr himmlischen Wesen, / gebt Jahwe Ehre und Macht!2Gebt Jahwe die Ehre, die ihm gebührt, / betet ihn an in heiliger Pracht.3Die Stimme Jahwes schallt über der Flut. / Der Gott der Herrlichkeit lässt Donner dröhnen, / Jahwe beherrscht das gewaltige Meer.4Die Stimme Jahwes voller Macht, / ist herrlich und furchtbar zugleich.5Die Stimme Jahwes spaltet mächtige Bäume, / Libanonzedern zersplittern vor ihm.6Der Libanon hüpft vor ihm wie ein Kalb, / wie ein junger Büffel springt der Hermon[1] auf.7Die Stimme Jahwes sprüht zuckende Flammen.8Die Stimme Jahwes lässt Wüsten erzittern. / Auch die Wüste von Kadesch[2] erbebt.9Die Stimme Jahwes wirbelt Eichen empor, / reißt ganze Wälder kahl. / Und in seinem Tempel ruft alles: „Ehre sei Gott!“10Jahwe thront über den Fluten, / er herrscht als ewiger König!11Seinem Volk verleiht er Kraft / und segnet es mit Frieden!

Worship the LORD because of his beauty and holiness.3The voice of the LORD is heard over the waters. The God of glory thunders. The LORD thunders over the mighty waters.4The voice of the LORD is powerful. The voice of the LORD is majestic.5The voice of the LORD breaks the cedar trees. The LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon into pieces.6He makes the mountains of Lebanon leap like a calf. He makes Mount Hermon jump like a young wild ox.7The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning.8The voice of the LORD shakes the desert. The LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.9The voice of the LORD twists the oak trees. It strips the forests bare. And in his temple everyone cries out, ‘Glory!’10The LORD on his throne rules over the flood. The LORD rules from his throne as King for ever.11The LORD gives strength to his people. The LORD blesses his people with peace.

(4Mo 13,26)9The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth[3] and strips the forests bare, and in his temple all cry, “Glory!” (Hi 39,1)10The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord sits enthroned as king forever.
