Richte du mich, Jahwe, / denn ich war immer ehrlich vor dir. / Ich habe Jahwe vertraut, / ich werde nicht fallen.2Prüf mich, Jahwe, und erprobe mich, / prüfe mich auf Herz und Nieren!3Ich hatte deine Gnade vor Augen, / deine Treue bestimmte mein Leben.4Ich hatte nichts mit Betrügern zu tun. / Ich gab mich nicht mit Heuchlern ab.5Die Gesellschaft von Übeltätern ist mir verhasst, / bei den Gottlosen sitze ich nicht.6In Unschuld wasche ich meine Hände / und gehe um deinen Altar herum.7Ich lasse laut ein Danklied hören / und erzähle von all deinen Wundern, Jahwe.8Ich liebe das Haus, in dem du wohnst, / wo deine Herrlichkeit uns nahe ist.9Raffe mich nicht mit den Sündern weg, / nimm mir nicht mit den Mördern das Leben! /10Schandtaten kleben an ihren Händen, / und ihre Taschen sind durch Bestechungen voll.11Doch ich gehe ehrlich meinen Weg. / Erlöse mich und sei mir gnädig!12Jetzt stehe ich auf festem Grund / und preise Jahwe vor allem Volk.
1LORD, when you hand down your sentence, let it be in my favour. I have lived without blame. I have trusted in the LORD. I have never doubted him.2LORD, test me. Try me out. Look deep down into my heart and mind.3I have always remembered your love that never fails. I have always depended on the fact that you are faithful.4I don’t spend time with people who tell lies. I don’t keep company with pretenders.5I hate to be with a group of sinful people. I refuse to spend time with those who are evil.6I wash my hands to show that I’m not guilty. LORD, I come near your altar.7I shout my praise to you. I tell about all the wonderful things you have done.8LORD, I love the house where you live. I love the place where your glory is.9Don’t destroy me together with sinners. Don’t take away my life along with murderers.10Their hands are always planning to do evil. Their right hands are full of money that has bought their help.11But I live without blame. Save me from harm and treat me with kindness.12My feet stand on level ground. In the whole community I will praise the LORD.

(Ps 9,1)8O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells. (Ps 27,4)9Do not sweep my soul away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men, (Ps 28,3)10in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes. (2Mo 23,8; 5Mo 16,19)11But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me.12My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will bless the Lord. (Ps 22,25; Ps 27,11)
