1 Das Wort Jahwes kam zu mir. Er sagte: 2 „Du Mensch, / was hat das Holz der Rebe dem Unterholz voraus, / das zwischen den Waldbäumen wächst? 3 Fängt man etwas damit an? / Nimmt man es als Pflock / und hängt ein Gerät daran auf? 4 Nein, es ist für das Feuer bestimmt! / Seine Enden hat das Feuer gefressen / und seine Mitte ist schon versengt. / Taugt es so für eine Arbeit? 5 Schon als es noch heil war, / konnte man nichts daraus machen. / Wie viel weniger jetzt, / wo es vom Feuer angefressen ist. / Wozu soll man es denn noch gebrauchen? 6 Darum spricht Jahwe, der Herr: / Wie ich das Holz des Weinstocks, / das doch nicht besser als Unterholz ist, / dem Feuer zum Fraß vorwarf, / so gebe ich die Bewohner Jerusalems hin. 7 Ich wende mein Gesicht gegen sie. / Das Feuer wird sie fressen, / auch wenn sie ihm schon entkommen sind. / Und wenn ich das tue, / erkennt ihr, / dass ich, Jahwe, / gegen sie bin. 8 Zur Wüste mache ich ihr Land, / denn sie haben mir die Treue gebrochen“, / spricht Jahwe, der Herr.

1 وَأَوْحَى إِلَيَّ الرَّبُّ بِكَلِمَتِهِ قَائِلاً: 2 «يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ، بِمَاذَا يَفْضُلُ عُودُ الْكَرْمِ عَلَى كُلِّ عُودٍ آخَرَ أَوْ عَلَى غُصْنٍ مِنْ أَغْصَانِ شَجَرِ الْغَابَةِ؟ 3 أَيُؤْخَذُ مِنْهُ قَضِيبٌ لِيُصْنَعَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ مَا؟ أَوْ يَخْتَارُونَ مِنْهُ وَتَداً يُعَلَّقُ عَلَيْهِ إِنَاءٌ؟ 4 إِنَّمَا يُطْرَحُ وَقُوداً لِلنَّارِ فَتَلْتَهِمُ النَّارُ طَرَفَيْهِ وَتَجْعَلُ وَسَطَهُ فَحْماً، أَيَصْلُحُ بَعْدُ لِشَيْءٍ؟ 5 فَإِنْ كَانَ وَهُوَ سَلِيمٌ لَمْ يَصْلُحْ لِعَمَلٍ مَا، فَكَمْ بِالأَحْرَى بَعْدَ أَنِ الْتَهَمَتْهُ النِّيرَانُ وَاحْتَرَقَ؟ أَيَصْلُحُ بَعْدُ لِصُنْعِ شَيْءٍ؟ 6 لِذَلِكَ يَقُولُ السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ، كَمَا جَعَلْتُ عُودَ الْكَرْمِ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَشْجَارِ الْغَابَةِ وَقُوداً لِلنَّارِ، هَكَذَا أَجْعَلُ أَهْلَ أُورُشَلِيمَ حَطَباً لَهَا. 7 وَأَنْقَلِبُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى إِذَا خَرَجُوا مِنْ نَارٍ تَلْتَهِمُهُمْ نَارٌ أُخْرَى، فَتُدْرِكُونَ أَنِّي أَنَا الرَّبُّ حِينَ أَنْقَلِبُ عَلَيْكُمْ. 8 وَأَجْعَلُ الأَرْضَ مُقْفِرَةً لأَنَّهُمْ خَانُوا عَهْدِي يَقُولُ السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ».

1 And the word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, how does the wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest? (Hes 2,1; Hes 15,6) 3 Is wood taken from it to make anything? Do people take a peg from it to hang any vessel on it? (Jes 22,23) 4 Behold, it is given to the fire for fuel. When the fire has consumed both ends of it, and the middle of it is charred, is it useful for anything? (Joh 15,6) 5 Behold, when it was whole, it was used for nothing. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it ever be used for anything! (Hes 15,3) 6 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem. (Ps 80,8; Jes 5,1; Hes 15,4; Hes 17,6; Hes 19,10) 7 And I will set my face against them. Though they escape from the fire, the fire shall yet consume them, and you will know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them. (2Kön 25,9; Hes 6,7; Hes 14,8) 8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have acted faithlessly, declares the Lord God.” (Hes 6,14; Hes 14,13)

1 Было ко мне слово Вечного: 2 – Смертный, чем древесина виноградной лозы лучше древесины ветвей всех деревьев леса? 3 Разве берут древесину виноградной лозы, чтобы сделать что-нибудь нужное? Разве делают из неё хотя бы колышки, чтобы развешивать вещи? 4 А когда её бросают в огонь как топливо, и огонь сжигает оба её конца и обугливает середину, то годится ли она на что-нибудь после этого? 5 Если она ни на что не годилась, когда была целой, то на что же она сгодится после того, как её поглотил огонь, и она обуглилась? 6 Поэтому так говорит Владыка Вечный: – Как Я отдал древесину виноградной лозы среди деревьев леса на пожирание огню, так поступлю Я и с жителями Иерусалима. 7 Я обращу лицо Моё против них. Даже если они выберутся из огня, огонь всё равно поглотит их. И когда Я обращу против них Своё лицо, они узнают, что Я – Вечный. 8 Я предам землю опустошению за то, что они нарушили верность, – возвещает Владыка Вечный.
