1 Aquele que habita no abrigo do Altíssimo e descansa à sombra do Todo-poderoso 

2 pode dizer ao SENHOR: “Tu és o meu refúgio e a minha fortaleza, o meu Deus, em quem confio”. 

3 Ele o livrará do laço do caçador e do veneno mortal. 

4 Ele o cobrirá com as suas penas, e sob as suas asas você encontrará refúgio; a fidelidade dele será o seu escudo protetor. 

5 Você não temerá o pavor da noite nem a flecha que voa de dia, 

6 nem a peste que se move sorrateira nas trevas, nem a praga que devasta ao meio-dia. 

7 Mil poderão cair ao seu lado; dez mil, à sua direita, mas nada o atingirá. 

8 Você simplesmente olhará, e verá o castigo dos ímpios. 

9 Se você fizer do Altíssimo o seu abrigo, do SENHOR o seu refúgio, 

10 nenhum mal o atingirá, desgraça alguma chegará à sua tenda. 

11 Porque a seus anjos ele dará ordens a seu respeito, para que o protejam em todos os seus caminhos; 

12 com as mãos eles o segurarão, para que você não tropece em alguma pedra. 

13 Você pisará o leão e a cobra; pisoteará o leão forte e a serpente. 

14 “Porque ele me ama, eu o resgatarei; eu o protegerei, pois conhece o meu nome. 

15 Ele clamará a mim, e eu lhe darei resposta, e na adversidade estarei com ele; vou livrá-lo e cobri-lo de honra. 

16 Vida longa eu lhe darei, e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação.”

My Refuge and My Fortress

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. (Sl 32:7; Sl 121:5; Is 25:4; Is 32:2) 

2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Sl 11:1; Sl 14:6; Sl 18:2; Sl 91:9) 

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. (Sl 124:7; Sl 140:5; Sl 141:9; Pv 6:5) 

4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. (1 Rs 8:7; Sl 17:8; Sl 35:2; Sl 36:5; Sl 57:1) 

5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, (Jó 5:19; Pv 3:23; Ct 3:8; Is 43:1) 

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. 

7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 

8 You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. (Sl 37:34) 

9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— (Sl 71:3; Sl 91:2) 

10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. (Sl 38:11; Sl 91:5; Pv 12:21)
