1 SENHOR, quero dar-te graças de todo o coração e falar de todas as tuas maravilhas.[1] 2 Em ti quero alegrar-me e exultar, e cantar louvores ao teu nome, ó Altíssimo. 3 Quando os meus inimigos contigo se defrontam, tropeçam e são destruídos. 4 Pois defendeste o meu direito e a minha causa; em teu trono te assentaste, julgando com justiça. 5 Repreendeste as nações e destruíste os ímpios; para todo o sempre apagaste o nome deles. 6 O inimigo foi totalmente arrasado, para sempre; desarraigaste as suas cidades; já não há quem delas se lembre. 7 O SENHOR reina para sempre; estabeleceu o seu trono para julgar. 8 Ele mesmo julga o mundo com justiça; governa os povos com retidão. 9 O SENHOR é refúgio para os oprimidos, uma torre segura na hora da adversidade. 10 Os que conhecem o teu nome confiam em ti, pois tu, SENHOR, jamais abandonas os que te buscam. 11 Cantem louvores ao SENHOR, que reina em Sião; proclamem entre as nações os seus feitos. 12 Aquele que pede contas do sangue derramado não esquece; ele não ignora o clamor dos oprimidos. 13 Misericórdia, SENHOR! Vê o sofrimento que me causam os que me odeiam. Salva-me das portas da morte, 14 para que, junto às portas da cidade[2] de Sião, eu cante louvores a ti e ali exulte em tua salvação. 15 Caíram as nações na cova que abriram; os seus pés ficaram presos no laço que esconderam. 16 O SENHOR é conhecido pela justiça que executa; os ímpios caem em suas próprias armadilhas. Interlúdio[3]. Pausa 17 Voltem os ímpios ao pó[4], todas as nações que se esquecem de Deus! 18 Mas os pobres nunca serão esquecidos, nem se frustrará a esperança dos necessitados. 19 Levanta-te, SENHOR! Não permitas que o mortal triunfe! Julgadas sejam as nações na tua presença. 20 Infunde-lhes terror, SENHOR; saibam as nações que não passam de seres humanos. Pausa

1 [1] To the choirmaster: according to Muth-labben.[2] A Psalm of David. I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. (Sl 26:7; Sl 40:5; Sl 96:3; Sl 105:5) 2 I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. (Sl 5:11; Sl 7:17; Sl 83:18) 3 When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before[3] your presence. 4 For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment. (Sl 29:10; Sl 140:12) 5 You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish; you have blotted out their name forever and ever. (Dt 9:14; Dt 29:20; Sl 68:30; Pv 10:7) 6 The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins; their cities you rooted out; the very memory of them has perished. 7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, 8 and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness. (Sl 58:11; Sl 96:10; Sl 96:13; Sl 98:9) 9 The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. (Sl 91:14) 11 Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds! (Sl 76:2; Sl 77:12; Sl 107:22) 12 For he who avenges blood is mindful of them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted. See my affliction from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gates of death, (Jó 38:17; Sl 4:1) 14 that I may recount all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation.
