de Biblica1Portanto, sejam imitadores de Deus, como filhos amados,2e vivam em amor, como também Cristo nos amou e se entregou por nós como oferta e sacrifício de aroma agradável a Deus.3Entre vocês não deve haver nem sequer menção de imoralidade sexual como também de nenhuma espécie de impureza e de cobiça; pois essas coisas não são próprias para os santos.4Não haja obscenidade, nem conversas tolas, nem gracejos imorais, que são inconvenientes, mas, ao invés disso, ações de graças.5Porque vocês podem estar certos disto: nenhum imoral, ou impuro, ou ganancioso, que é idólatra, tem herança no Reino de Cristo e de Deus[1].6Ninguém os engane com palavras tolas, pois é por causa dessas coisas que a ira de Deus vem sobre os que vivem na desobediência.7Portanto, não participem com eles dessas coisas.8Porque outrora vocês eram trevas, mas agora são luz no Senhor. Vivam como filhos da luz,9pois o fruto da luz[2] consiste em toda bondade, justiça e verdade;10e aprendam a discernir o que é agradável ao Senhor.11Não participem das obras infrutíferas das trevas; antes, exponham-nas à luz.12Porque aquilo que eles fazem em oculto, até mencionar é vergonhoso.13Mas, tudo o que é exposto pela luz torna-se visível, pois a luz torna visíveis todas as coisas.14Por isso é que foi dito: “Desperta, ó tu que dormes, levanta-te dentre os mortos e Cristo resplandecerá sobre ti”.
Vida em Comunidade
15Tenham cuidado com a maneira como vocês vivem; que não seja como insensatos, mas como sábios,16aproveitando ao máximo cada oportunidade, porque os dias são maus.17Portanto, não sejam insensatos, mas procurem compreender qual é a vontade do Senhor.18Não se embriaguem com vinho, que leva à libertinagem, mas deixem-se encher pelo Espírito,19falando entre vocês com salmos, hinos e cânticos espirituais, cantando e louvando de coração ao Senhor,20dando graças constantemente a Deus Pai por todas as coisas, em nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.21Sujeitem-se uns aos outros, por temor a Cristo.
Deveres Conjugais
22Mulheres, sujeite-se cada uma a seu marido, como ao Senhor,23pois o marido é o cabeça da mulher, como também Cristo é o cabeça da igreja, que é o seu corpo, do qual ele é o Salvador.24Assim como a igreja está sujeita a Cristo, também as mulheres estejam em tudo sujeitas a seus maridos.25Maridos, ame cada um a sua mulher, assim como Cristo amou a igreja e entregou-se por ela26para santificá-la, tendo-a purificado pelo lavar da água mediante a palavra,27e para apresentá-la a si mesmo como igreja gloriosa, sem mancha nem ruga ou coisa semelhante, mas santa e inculpável.28Da mesma forma, os maridos devem amar cada um a sua mulher como a seu próprio corpo. Quem ama sua mulher, ama a si mesmo.29Além do mais, ninguém jamais odiou o seu próprio corpo[3], antes o alimenta e dele cuida, como também Cristo faz com a igreja,30pois somos membros do seu corpo.31“Por essa razão, o homem deixará pai e mãe e se unirá à sua mulher, e os dois se tornarão uma só carne.”32Este é um mistério profundo; refiro-me, porém, a Cristo e à igreja.33Portanto, cada um de vocês também ame a sua mulher como a você mesmo, e a mulher trate o marido com todo o respeito.

(1 Ts 2:4; 1 Ts 5:21)11Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (Lv 19:17; Rm 6:21; Rm 13:12; 1 Co 5:9; 1 Tm 5:20)12For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. (Ef 5:3)13But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, (Jo 3:20; Ef 5:9)14for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” (Is 26:19; Is 51:17; Is 52:1; Is 60:1; Ml 4:2; Lc 1:78; Rm 13:11)15Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, (Pv 15:21; Cl 4:5)16making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. (Ec 12:1; Am 5:13; Gl 1:4; Ef 5:15; Ef 6:13)17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Rm 12:2; 1 Ts 4:3; 1 Ts 5:18)18And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, (Pv 20:1; Pv 23:20; Pv 23:31; Lc 1:15; 1 Co 5:11; Tt 1:6; 1 Pe 4:4)19addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, (At 16:25; 1 Co 14:26; Cl 3:16; Tg 5:13)20giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Jo 14:13; Cl 3:17; 1 Ts 1:2; 2 Ts 1:3; Hb 13:15)21submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives and Husbands
22Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. (Gn 3:16; Ef 6:5; Cl 3:18)23For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. (1 Co 6:13; 1 Co 11:3; Ef 1:22)24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. (Cl 3:20; Cl 3:22; Tt 2:9)25Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, (Ef 5:2; Ef 5:28; Ef 5:33; 1 Pe 3:7)26that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, (Jo 15:3; Ef 6:17; Tt 3:5; Hb 6:5; Ap 7:14)27so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.[1] (Ct 4:7; 2 Co 11:2; Ef 1:4)28In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. (Ef 5:25; Ef 5:33)29For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,30because we are members of his body. (Gn 2:23; 1 Co 6:15)31“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” (Gn 2:24; Mt 19:5; Mc 10:7; 1 Co 6:16)32This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.33However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (Ef 5:25; Ef 5:28; 1 Pe 3:2; 1 Pe 3:6)
