Salmo 80

1 To the choirmaster: according to Lilies. A Testimony. Of Asaph, a Psalm. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth. (Ex 25:22; 1 S 4:4; 2 S 6:2; Sal 50:1; Sal 50:2; Sal 60:1; Sal 77:20; Sal 78:67; Sal 81:5; Sal 95:7; Sal 99:1)2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might and come to save us! (Nm 2:18; Sal 35:23; Sal 118:14; Sal 118:21)3 Restore us,[1] O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved! (Nm 6:25; Sal 4:6; Sal 60:1; Sal 80:19; Sal 85:4; Lm 5:21)4 O Lord God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers? (Sal 59:5; Sal 74:10; Sal 79:5)5 You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in full measure. (1 R 22:27; Sal 42:3; Sal 102:9; Is 30:20)6 You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves. (Sal 44:13)7 Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved! (Sal 80:3)8 You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. (Sal 44:2; Is 5:1; Is 27:2; Jer 2:21; Jer 12:10; Ez 17:6; Mt 21:33; Mr 12:1; Lc 20:9)9 You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land. (Jos 24:12)10 The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches.11 It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River.[2] (Sal 72:8)12 Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit? (Sal 89:40; Is 5:5)13 The boar from the forest ravages it, and all that move in the field feed on it. (Jer 5:6)14 Turn again, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine, (Is 63:15)15 the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.16 They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your face! (Sal 39:11; Sal 76:6; Is 33:12)17 But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself! (Sal 89:21)18 Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name! (Sal 71:20)19 Restore us, O Lord God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved! (Sal 80:3; Sal 80:7)
