1Yo, hermanos, no pude dirigirme a ustedes como a espirituales sino como a inmaduros,[1] apenas niños en Cristo.2Les di leche porque no podían asimilar alimento sólido, ni pueden todavía,3pues aún son inmaduros. Mientras haya entre ustedes celos y contiendas, ¿no serán inmaduros? ¿Acaso no se están comportando según criterios meramente humanos?4Cuando uno afirma: «Yo sigo a Pablo», y otro: «Yo sigo a Apolos», ¿no es porque están actuando con criterios humanos?[2]5Después de todo, ¿qué es Apolos? ¿Y qué es Pablo? Nada más que servidores por medio de los cuales ustedes llegaron a creer, según lo que el Señor le asignó a cada uno.6Yo sembré, Apolos regó, pero Dios ha dado el crecimiento.7Así que no cuenta ni el que siembra ni el que riega, sino sólo Dios, quien es el que hace crecer.8El que siembra y el que riega están al mismo nivel, aunque cada uno será recompensado según su propio trabajo.9En efecto, nosotros somos colaboradores al servicio de Dios; y ustedes son el campo de cultivo de Dios, son el edificio de Dios.10Según la gracia que Dios me ha dado, yo, como maestro constructor, eché los cimientos, y otro construye sobre ellos. Pero cada uno tenga cuidado de cómo construye,11porque nadie puede poner un fundamento diferente del que ya está puesto, que es Jesucristo.12Si alguien construye sobre este fundamento, ya sea con oro, plata y piedras preciosas, o con madera, heno y paja,13su obra se mostrará tal cual es, pues el día del juicio la dejará al descubierto. El fuego la dará a conocer, y pondrá a prueba la calidad del trabajo de cada uno.14Si lo que alguien ha construido permanece, recibirá su recompensa,15pero si su obra es consumida por las llamas, él sufrirá pérdida. Será salvo, pero como quien pasa por el fuego.16¿No saben que ustedes son templo de Dios y que el Espíritu de Dios habita en ustedes?17Si alguno destruye el templo de Dios, él mismo será destruido por Dios; porque el templo de Dios es sagrado, y ustedes son ese templo.18Que nadie se engañe. Si alguno de ustedes se cree sabio según las normas de esta época, hágase ignorante para así llegar a ser sabio.19Porque a los ojos de Dios la sabiduría de este mundo es locura. Como está escrito: «Él atrapa a los sabios en su propia astucia»;[3]20y también dice: «El Señor conoce los pensamientos de los sabios y sabe que son absurdos.»[4]21Por lo tanto, ¡que nadie base su orgullo en el hombre! Al fin y al cabo, todo es de ustedes,22ya sea Pablo, o Apolos, o Cefas, o el universo, o la vida, o la muerte, o lo presente o lo por venir; todo es de ustedes,23y ustedes son de Cristo, y Cristo es de Dios.

For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. (Ro 12:6; 2 Co 3:3; 2 Co 6:4; Ef 3:7; Col 1:25)6I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. (Hch 18:4; Hch 18:27; 1 Co 4:15; 1 Co 9:1; 1 Co 15:1; 1 Co 15:10; 2 Co 10:14; Col 1:18)7So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. (2 Co 12:11; Gl 2:6; Gl 6:3)8He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. (Mt 16:27; Ro 2:6; 1 Co 3:14; 1 Co 4:5; 1 Co 15:58; Gl 6:4; 2 Jn 1:8)9For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building. (Sal 127:1; Mr 16:20; 1 Co 3:16; 2 Co 6:1; Ef 2:20; Col 2:7)10According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled[2] master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. (Ro 12:3; Ro 15:20; 1 Co 3:11; 1 Co 4:15; 2 P 3:15; Ap 21:14)11For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (Is 28:16; 2 Co 11:4; Gl 1:6; Ef 2:20)12Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw—13each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. (1 Co 3:15; 1 Co 4:5; 2 Ts 1:8; 1 P 1:7)14If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. (1 Co 3:8)15If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. (Sal 66:12; Is 43:2; Jud 1:23)16Do you not know that you[3] are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Co 6:19; 2 Co 6:16; Ef 2:21)17If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. (2 Co 7:1)18Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. (Is 5:21; Jer 8:8; 1 Co 8:2; Gl 6:3)19For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” (Job 5:13; 1 Co 1:20)20and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” (Sal 94:11)21So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, (Ro 8:28; 1 Co 1:12; 1 Co 3:4; 1 Co 4:6)22whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours,23and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
