1În mâna dreaptă a Celui Ce ședea pe tron am văzut un sul scris pe ambele părți și sigilat cu șapte sigilii.2Și am văzut un înger puternic proclamând cu glas tare: „Cine este vrednic să deschidă sulul și să‑i desfacă sigiliile?“3Dar nimeni în cer, nici pe pământ, nici sub pământ n‑a putut să deschidă sulul, nici să se uite în el.4Și am plâns mult, pentru că nu s‑a găsit nimeni vrednic să deschidă sulul, nici să se uite în el.5Dar unul dintre bătrâni mi‑a zis: „Nu plânge! Iată că Leul din seminția lui Iuda, Rădăcina lui David, a învins ca să deschidă sulul și cele șapte sigilii ale lui!“6Și am văzut un Miel, Care părea înjunghiat, stând în picioare în mijlocul tronului și al celor patru ființe vii și în mijlocul bătrânilor. Avea șapte coarne[1] și șapte ochi, care sunt cele șapte duhuri ale lui Dumnezeu, trimise pe întreg pământul.7El a venit și a luat sulul din mâna dreaptă a Celui Ce ședea pe tron.8Când a luat El sulul, cele patru ființe vii și cei douăzeci și patru de bătrâni s‑au aruncat la pământ înaintea Lui. Fiecare avea câte o kithara[2] și vase de aur pline cu tămâie – care sunt rugăciunile sfinților – (1 Cor 14:7; Apo 14:2; Apo 15:2)9și cântau o cântare nouă: „Tu ești vrednic să iei sulul și să‑i deschizi sigiliile, pentru că ai fost înjunghiat și prin sângele Tău ai răscumpărat, pentru Dumnezeu, oameni din orice seminție, limbă, popor și neam10și i‑ai făcut o împărăție și preoți pentru Dumnezeul nostru; și ei vor domni pe pământ!“11M‑am uitat și am auzit glasul multor îngeri care erau împrejurul tronului, al ființelor vii și al bătrânilor. Numărul lor era de zece mii de ori zece mii și de o mie de ori o mie[3].12Ei spuneau cu glas tare: „Vrednic este Mielul, Care a fost înjunghiat, să primească putere, bogăție, înțelepciune, tărie, cinste, slavă și laudă!“13Apoi, pe orice făptură care este în cer, pe pământ, sub pământ, pe mare, adică orice se află în aceste locuri, am auzit‑o zicând: „A Celui Ce stă pe tron și a Mielului să fie lauda, cinstea, slava și puterea, în vecii vecilor!“14Și cele patru ființe vii au zis: „Amin!“, iar bătrânii s‑au aruncat la pământ și s‑au închinat.

(Is 29:11; Ez 2:9; Dan 12:4)2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” (Apo 10:1; Apo 18:21)3And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it,4and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.5And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” (Gen 49:9; Is 11:1; Is 11:10; Ro 15:12; Ev 7:14; Apo 22:16)6And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. (Is 53:7; Zah 3:9; Zah 4:10; Ioan 1:29; Ioan 1:36; 1 Pe 1:19; Apo 1:4; Apo 5:9; Apo 5:12; Apo 13:8)7And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne.8And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. (Ps 141:2; Apo 4:10; Apo 8:3; Apo 14:2; Apo 15:2; Apo 15:7)9And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, (Ps 33:3; Dan 3:4; 2 Pe 2:1; Apo 5:6; Apo 7:9; Apo 11:9; Apo 14:3; Apo 14:6)10and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” (Apo 1:6)11Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, (Dan 7:10; Ev 12:22)12saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” (Apo 4:11)13And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” (Ps 145:21; Ps 150:6)14And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
