Аврам встречает Мелхиседека
17Когда Аврам возвращался после победы над Кедорлаомером и союзными с ним царями, царь Содома вышел встречать его в долину Шаве (то есть Царскую долину);18Мелхиседек[5], царь Салима, вынес хлеб и вино. Будучи священником Бога Всевышнего[6], (Евр 7:1)19он благословил Аврама, сказав: – Благословен будь Аврам от Бога Всевышнего, Творца[7] неба и земли.20И благословен будь Бог Всевышний, отдавший твоих врагов в твои руки. Аврам дал ему от всего десятую часть.21Царь Содома сказал Авраму: – Отдай мне моих людей, а добро оставь себе.22Но Аврам сказал царю Содома: – Я поднял руку к Господу, Богу Всевышнему, Творцу неба и земли, и дал клятву,23что не приму от тебя даже нитки или ремешка от сандалий, не возьму ничего твоего, чтобы ты не мог сказать: «Я обогатил Аврама».24Я возьму только то, что съели мои люди, а кто пошел со мной – Анер, Эшкол и Мамре – пусть возьмут свою долю.

17After his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
