1 Di Davide, quando si finse pazzo davanti ad Abimelec e, scacciato da lui, se ne andò. Io benedirò il Signore in ogni tempo; la sua lode sarà sempre nella mia bocca. 2 Io mi glorierò nel Signore; gli umili lo udranno e si rallegreranno. 3 Celebrate con me il Signore, esaltiamo il suo nome tutti insieme. 4 Ho cercato il Signore, ed egli m’ha risposto; m’ha liberato da tutto ciò che m’incuteva terrore. 5 Quelli che lo guardano sono illuminati, nei loro volti non c’è delusione. 6 Quest’afflitto ha gridato, e il Signore l’ha esaudito; l’ha salvato da tutte le sue disgrazie. 7 L’angelo del Signore si accampa intorno a quelli che lo temono, e li libera. 8 Provate e vedrete quanto il Signore è buono! Beato l’uomo che confida in lui. 9 Temete il Signore, o voi che gli siete consacrati, poiché nulla viene a mancare a quelli che lo temono. 10 I leoncelli soffrono penuria e fame, ma nessun bene manca a quelli che cercano il Signore. 11 Venite, figlioli, ascoltatemi; io v’insegnerò il timore del Signore. 12 Chi è l’uomo che desidera la vita e che brama lunghi giorni per poter gioire del bene? 13 Trattieni la tua lingua dal male e le tue labbra da parole bugiarde. 14 Allontànati dal male e fa’ il bene; cerca la pace e adoperati per essa. 15 Gli occhi del Signore sono sui giusti, e i suoi orecchi sono attenti al loro grido. 16 Il volto del Signore è contro quelli che fanno il male per cancellare dalla terra il loro ricordo. 17 I giusti gridano e il Signore li ascolta; li libera da tutte le loro disgrazie. 18 Il Signore è vicino a quelli che hanno il cuore afflitto, salva gli umili di spirito. 19 Molte sono le afflizioni del giusto, ma il Signore lo libera da tutte. 20 Egli preserva tutte le sue ossa; non se ne spezza neanche uno^[1]. 21 La malvagità farà perire il malvagio, quelli che odiano il giusto saranno considerati colpevoli. 22 Il Signore riscatta la vita dei suoi servi, nessuno di quelli che confidano in lui sarà considerato colpevole.

1 Von David, als er sich wahnsinnig stellte vor Abimelech und dieser ihn vertrieb und er wegging. (1Sam 21,14) 2 Ich will den HERRN loben allezeit; sein Lob soll immerdar in meinem Munde sein. 3 Meine Seele soll sich rühmen des HERRN, dass es die Elenden hören und sich freuen. 4 Preiset mit mir den HERRN und lasst uns miteinander seinen Namen erhöhen! 5 Da ich den HERRN suchte, antwortete er mir und errettete mich aus aller meiner Furcht. 6 Die auf ihn sehen, werden strahlen vor Freude, und ihr Angesicht soll nicht schamrot werden. 7 Als einer im Elend rief, hörte der HERR und half ihm aus allen seinen Nöten. 8 Der Engel des HERRN lagert sich um die her, die ihn fürchten, und hilft ihnen heraus. (Gen 32,2; 2Re 6,17; Sal 91,11) 9 Schmecket und sehet, wie freundlich der HERR ist. Wohl dem, der auf ihn trauet! (1P 2,3) 10 Fürchtet den HERRN, ihr seine Heiligen! Denn die ihn fürchten, haben keinen Mangel. 11 Reiche müssen darben und hungern; aber die den HERRN suchen, haben keinen Mangel an irgendeinem Gut. (Lu 1,53) 12 Kommt her, ihr Kinder, höret mir zu! Ich will euch die Furcht des HERRN lehren. 13 Wer ist’s, der Leben begehrt und gerne gute Tage hätte? (1P 3,10) 14 Behüte deine Zunge vor Bösem und deine Lippen, dass sie nicht Trug reden. 15 Lass ab vom Bösen und tue Gutes; suche Frieden und jage ihm nach! 16 Die Augen des HERRN merken auf die Gerechten und seine Ohren auf ihr Schreien. 17 Das Antlitz des HERRN steht wider alle, die Böses tun, dass er ihren Namen ausrotte von der Erde. (Prov 10,7) 18 Wenn die Gerechten schreien, so hört der HERR und errettet sie aus all ihrer Not. 19 Der HERR ist nahe denen, die zerbrochenen Herzens sind, und hilft denen, die ein zerschlagenes Gemüt haben. (Sal 51,19) 20 Der Gerechte muss viel leiden, aber aus alledem hilft ihm der HERR. (2Co 1,5) 21 Er bewahrt ihm alle seine Gebeine, dass nicht eines von ihnen zerbrochen wird. 22 Den Frevler wird das Unglück töten, und die den Gerechten hassen, fallen in Schuld. 23 Der HERR erlöst das Leben seiner Knechte, und alle, die auf ihn trauen, werden frei von Schuld.

1 A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof , and be glad. 3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. 4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him , and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing . 11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. 14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. 16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. 20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. 21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. 22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

1 Bendeciré al Señor en todo tiempo; mis labios siempre lo alabarán. 2 Mi alma se gloría en el Señor; lo oirán los humildes y se alegrarán. 3 Engrandezcan al Señor conmigo; exaltemos a una su nombre. 4 Busqué al Señor, y él me respondió; me libró de todos mis temores. 5 Radiantes están los que a él acuden; jamás su rostro se cubre de vergüenza. 6 Este pobre clamó, y el Señor le oyó y lo libró de todas sus angustias. 7 El ángel del Señor acampa en torno a los que le temen; a su lado está para librarlos. 8 Prueben y vean que el Señor es bueno; dichosos los que en él se refugian. 9 Teman al Señor, ustedes sus santos, pues nada les falta a los que le temen. 10 Los leoncillos se debilitan y tienen hambre, pero a los que buscan al Señor nada les falta. 11 Vengan, hijos míos, y escúchenme, que voy a enseñarles el temor del Señor. 12 El que quiera amar la vida y gozar de días felices, 13 que refrene su lengua de hablar el mal y sus labios de proferir engaños; 14 que se aparte del mal y haga el bien; que busque la paz y la siga. 15 Los ojos del Señor están sobre los justos, y sus oídos, atentos a sus oraciones; 16 el rostro del Señor está contra los que hacen el mal, para borrar de la tierra su memoria. 17 Los justos claman, y el Señor los oye; los libra de todas sus angustias. 18 El Señor está cerca de los quebrantados de corazón, y salva a los de espíritu abatido. 19 Muchas son las angustias del justo, pero el Señor lo librará de todas ellas; 20 le protegerá todos los huesos, y ni uno solo le quebrarán. 21 La maldad destruye a los malvados; serán condenados los enemigos de los justos. 22 El Señor libra a sus siervos; no serán condenados los que en él confían.
