Ricompensa e fede del giusto

1 Inno di Davide. Proteggimi, o Dio, perché io confido in te. 2 Ho detto al Signore: «Tu sei il mio Signore; non ho bene alcuno all’infuori di te». 3 Quanto ai santi che sono sulla terra, essi sono la gente onorata in cui ripongo tutto il mio affetto. 4 I dolori di quelli che corrono dietro ad altri dèi saranno moltiplicati; io non offrirò le loro libazioni di sangue, né le mie labbra proferiranno i loro nomi. 5 Il Signore è la mia parte di eredità e il mio calice; tu sostieni quel che mi è toccato in sorte. 6 La sorte mi ha assegnato luoghi deliziosi; una bella eredità mi è toccata! 7 Benedirò il Signore che mi consiglia; anche il mio cuore mi istruisce di notte. 8 Io ho sempre posto il Signore davanti agli occhi miei; poiché egli è alla mia destra, io non sarò affatto smosso. 9 Perciò il mio cuore si rallegra e l’anima mia esulta; anche la mia carne dimorerà al sicuro; 10 poiché tu non abbandonerai l’anima mia in potere della morte, né permetterai che il tuo santo subisca la decomposizione. 11 Tu m’insegni la via della vita; ci sono gioie a sazietà in tua presenza; alla tua destra vi sono delizie in eterno.

1 Ein güldenes Kleinod Davids. Bewahre mich, Gott; denn ich traue auf dich. / 2 Ich habe gesagt zu dem HERRN: Du bist ja der Herr! Ich weiß von keinem Gut außer dir. (Sal 73,25) 3 An den Heiligen, die auf Erden sind, an den Herrlichen hab ich all mein Gefallen. 4 Aber jene, die einem andern nachlaufen, werden viel Herzeleid haben. Ich will das Blut ihrer Trankopfer nicht opfern noch ihren Namen in meinem Munde führen. 5 Der HERR ist mein Gut und mein Teil; du hältst mein Los in deinen Händen! (Nu 18,20; Sal 73,26; Lam 3,24) 6 Das Los ist mir gefallen auf liebliches Land; mir ist ein schönes Erbteil geworden. 7 Ich lobe den HERRN, der mich beraten hat; auch mahnt mich mein Herz des Nachts. 8 Ich habe den HERRN allezeit vor Augen; er steht mir zur Rechten, so wanke ich nicht. 9 Darum freut sich mein Herz, und meine Seele ist fröhlich; auch mein Leib wird sicher wohnen. 10 Denn du wirst meine Seele nicht dem Tode lassen und nicht zugeben, dass dein Heiliger die Grube sehe. 11 Du tust mir kund den Weg zum Leben: Vor dir ist Freude die Fülle und Wonne zu deiner Rechten ewiglich.

Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. 2 O my soul , thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; 3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. 4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god : their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. 5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. 6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places ; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

1 Cuídame, oh Dios, porque en ti busco refugio. 2 Yo le he dicho al Señor: «Mi Señor eres tú. Fuera de ti, no poseo bien alguno.» 3 Poderosos son los sacerdotes paganos del país, según todos sus seguidores.^[1] 4 Pero aumentarán los dolores de los que corren tras ellos. ¡Jamás derramaré sus sangrientas libaciones, ni con mis labios pronunciaré sus nombres! 5 Tú, Señor, eres mi porción y mi copa; eres tú quien ha afirmado mi suerte. 6 Bellos lugares me han tocado en suerte; ¡preciosa herencia me ha correspondido! 7 Bendeciré al Señor, que me aconseja; aun de noche me reprende mi conciencia. 8 Siempre tengo presente al Señor; con él a mi derecha, nada me hará caer. 9 Por eso mi corazón se alegra, y se regocijan mis entrañas;^[2] todo mi ser se llena de confianza. 10 No dejarás que mi vida termine en el sepulcro; no permitirás que sufra corrupción tu siervo fiel. 11 Me has dado a conocer la senda de la vida; me llenarás de alegría en tu presencia, y de dicha eterna a tu derecha.
